Thanks so much for the section about cleaning the dial. I live out of town on a farm and thought I needed to pay for an electrician to come and look at the issue. You saved me a lot of time and money!! 🙂

Hi from Australia! I’m so glad I found your videos on here. I’ve just purchased the steam option of this oven which was a demonstrator model (but never used) as a sell out because it’s been superseded. Brilliant purchase price but I couldn’t find any videos on how to use it until I found you. Thanks so much, your directions have been really helpful, giving me some confidence in what I’m doing.

Thanks for the top tip showing how to clean the dial. Mine was super sticky and almost impossible to use. Cleaning it made using it a breeze.

I have a Bosch Series 8 oven and tried to cook two vanilla cakes on Level 1 & 3 using the 4D Hot Air setting which I think is like the old Fan Forced setting of other ovens. So I baked them on 160°C because the recipe said for 30mins on 180°C. (Normally on a Fan-Forced setting we're instructed to reduce the temperature by 20°C.) However the top cake didn't cook as well as the one on the bottom & I had to cook it for an extra 15mins. Should I have swapped the cakes around halfway through the cooking time? Is 4D Hot Air like Fan-Forced? There's not a lot of explanation in the booklet. I really have valued your instructional videos. Thank you.
@everythingandthekitchensink9 ай бұрын
Hi, that’s a strange one because the whole point of 4d hot air is that it is suppose to allow you to cook the same on all levels without issue? I’m not too sure what to suggest on that one? I normally always try and put my cakes on the same shelve if they fit and often use the auto bake function.
@everythingandthekitchensink9 ай бұрын
Did the recipe say 180c traditional oven or could it have already been 180 fan?? Many recipes that I see are updated to fan ovens because so many people have them now? I normally find in the forward of the cookery book it will state what type of oven used, egg size, salted or not butter, etc??
@adrianabauer76649 ай бұрын
It was a traditional oven recipe. I think next time I will cook them on the same shelf & try 170 degrees 4D Hot Air. Thanks.

The series 8 has issues with the touch screens stopping working, and replacements are no longer available :-(

How’s the oven in 2024? Does the touchscreen still work? I’ve heard terrible things about it and I’m still wondering if I should go ahead and purchase this…
@everythingandthekitchensink Жыл бұрын
Hi, it’s working fines I still have issues with part of the touch screen from time to time but it never really causes a problem. The ran feature has kept it looking like new still. So overall I’m happy with it. Bosch has released a newer version now, so maybe worth a look instead.

Hello, thank you so much for the update. What about hot spots? Does it bake evenly? And did you check how accurate the temperature is? Fishing for new oven and can't decide between this one and Miele. best regards
@everythingandthekitchensink2 жыл бұрын
Hi!! if you use 4D hot air there are literally no hot spots - the fan is very good at giving a consistent heat. Recently I baked a large tray bake sponge and it was evenly browed and risen. I used my oven thermometer a few times and the temperature is spot on. It is a very good oven! I do like Miele ovens - the M Touch Steam would be amazing - although they are very expensive compared to even the highest Bosch models. Have a look at the Miele Canada KZbin page - lots of demos etc on there.

@@everythingandthekitchensink Hello, thank you for the reply. Just to say, I actually did get the Miele oven with the steamshot, and it didn't do the steam. We called in the engineer from Miele and he didn't know what to do. We change it for the new one, and it again didn't steam at all. So we got our money back. So now I am really looking for straight forward good basic reliable oven without any gizmos. Just the pyrolitic clean. Coz all the pain with steamshot (we had to wait for it for 3 months to get here), and the money....
@everythingandthekitchensink2 жыл бұрын
@@savirushka oh wow!! The only thing I knew about the steam is they have a metal straw like thing in the door that sucks up water for the steam shot? Unless it’s plumbed into the mains or has a water container. You could always go for the steam oven serie 8 Bosch!
@savirushka2 жыл бұрын
@@everythingandthekitchensink Yep, that is that. It was sucking water, and then wouldn't do the steam. But saying that the steam is being released. And then again in different setting: sucking up water as if there is no water inside. And again no steam released. And then at some point just pissed all the water from the outlet where the steam should come out. We did the calcium clean (as advised by engineer, even though it was a brand new oven), then the steam finally came out. But after that one time, again no steam at all. So we got it replaced with the new one, but we asked the installers to wait and see if the steam program is working, after all, it is a very expensive oven (for me at least) Miele H 7464BP. And again, no steam released. My idea was that it just needed the software update. But, if the engineer from Miele doesn't know how to deal with it, who am I to suggest anything. Oh, btw, his wording was, that nobody uses this function, so they don't know how to deal with it. Sorry, but what? I know that many people buy brand just to have it on the wall, but what about us, keen bakers, that saved hard earned money to actually USE the function? As for Bosch with steam, we don't have it here in Cyprus. We are very very limited to what you can get from mainland EU. With steam we only have also Neff. But I do not, for the life of me, get the slide and hide door. The amount of times I splashed hot water on the oven door when I bake creme brulee or cheese cake, why on earth I would want it on my feet? So, naaah, back to basics, just normal oven with good temperature control, no hot spots and pyrolitic clean. lol sorry for much wording :)

Not sure if you’re interested but I got the Gaggenau 200 series oven (it’s a premium brand under the Bosch company). I absolutely love it. It has some additional programs, built in recipes etc. it doesn’t have a steam function though ( but I got the combo steam oven separately so I didn’t need that function fit the pyrolysis oven)

The cooling fans stay on after it’s off and a slight noise is heard while the vents change to adjust the airflow inside.
