I used these for a couple of years. The biggest annoyance I found with them is when using smaller holesaws, 25mm and 20mm, while drilling down into a metal top plate to get into a wall, when the holesaw goes through the metal, the edge of the quick change part hits the metal edge of the hole you just cut, and promptly ejects your holesaw down the wall cavity... got me a few times :P

I use these and love them. Big advantage i find is using the quick release mechanism to discharge the waste. No more poking a screwdriver in the side. Winner! Great content at the moment.

I have a set of these and the blue ones they do with the spring in the centre of the hole cutter that automatically pushes out the waste after cutting. There fantastic and very hardwearing and I definitely recommend them. Great video 👍

We have quite a collection of these at work from 20mm up to 210mm with both the hex and SDS arbors. You can buy the powerchange adaptors separately so have converted some of our old Starrett hole saws to fit the Bosch system. Mostly use them for drilling into plastic tanks which they fly through ( have had the same issue of the smaller sizes ejecting but this can be solved by fitting an over size washer between the adapter and the hole saw) we do also use the smaller sizes for drilling panels and would agree they skate but we deburr the edges and this is covered by the gland.

I have an older set of these and use them a lot for downlights in plasterboard and drilling entry holes into plastic accessories. I do use them on metal for entry holes but find the holesaw skates a little on the surface while cutting and the hole ends up slightly larger and untidy.

I bought a set of these a few years ago worked fine for a while until the locking mechanisms failed a few times so I ditched them and went back to the older standard ones, and they stack better too

You can buy custom hole saw foam inserts for Tanos/Festool/ T-Loc Systainers, which is what I use.And as you store them tooth down in the case, write the size of them on their base, makes things easier finding the right size for the job.Haven't tried the Bosch hole saws, have had no issues using ordinary hole saws for last 40 years. Couid use also 'ShadowFoam' cut to size for a box insert.

We swapped to the blue version of these for drilling 20mm gland holes in stainless control panels, but after a while they tend to start to drift and make a mess of the hole. Gone back to using starrett

Same here , the problem I identified is the pilot bit is loose in the arbour. This lets the holesaw oscillate erratically = rough hole!

I've been using them for years and recently tried a different brand. The bit I miss when I'm not using the bosch is you can use the quick release to quickly take off the saw head to clear the bit of plasterboard/mdf/floorboard before putting it back on and starting the next hole. Do 8 holes for spots and takes half the time to clear out the disc

The pilot bit is held in with a ball and Spring arrangement. not a magnet. Further, the pilot bit cannot be removed when a hole saw is inserted into the Arbor

is there an important differences between the power change plus adapter and the old one that dont have words on it and there is no groove in shank?! i am thinking to get the pack of 14 and wonder if there is a compatibility issues with pilot bits in future of adding individuals hole saws sizes?!

I have these and they can be used on a typical arbour if you unscrew the quick release black bit. Also other holesaws usually fit the same thread 😀

I’ve found that the pilot bits end up getting loose in the arbor. Great to start with but didn’t take long to get loose. A new bit made no difference. The quick change system is good though. No messing with around with grips, which is nice.

What a great video Jordan. It is normally cheaper to get them in a set which they normally do at Screwfix. You can normally get the full set thought you paid for that. They’re okay but they’re not better than a Star it. I’ve been saying Sterret wrong all these years

You were right the first time about the shaft, they're 5/8" and not 1/4" which is really annoying if I only want to bang a hole in plasterboard with my impact of 12v drill/driver. Other than that, I used to use these years ago when all I had was the 18v drill and they're a great job.

I have this set. They are very good. My only criticism is that the arbour mechanism can get gunked up with plasterboard dust causing it not to engage properly. I've just had to replace mine. Apart from that they are a good set and great to use.

Not for that price, A good arbor with locking pins works really well and you can use a hole saw from any brand. They wear out so replacing a 76mm with another £5 holesaw is a no brainer. I do like the idea of the 1/4 inch shank on the pilot drill as that will keep it in place. Bosch have developed some some great quick change bits and consumables but the cost is just not justified on bits that get abused or damaged when they hit something unexpected.

You missed the most important test. Namely how snug is the pilot drill. Mine had a lot of play. The problem is then, that the holesaws rotate erratically around the pilot bit! Exactly what you do not want. E.g. in even in a pillar drill, this made a horrible entry mess on an expensive thickly veneered door. Luckily I trialled it first on the letterbox slot, as it it were scrap. Ended up running off to get a Starrett, where the drill bit is secured “rock solid” by a grub screw. Thought I had a duff one so changed it ... the replacement is even worse. Maybe its because they say the drill bit is 7.15mm diam and with a 1/4” = 6.35mm hex shaft. My pilot bit is 7.12mm diam and the hex is 6.23mm across the flats. That results in an unacceptable amount of play. If the Pilot was as per spec it might solve it. I will try the Co version of the pilot bits to see if they are “fuller” - if not then they go in the bin.
