US made Bosch Premium, solid filters. Excellent efficiency "rating" and Bosch site says media is blended synthetic glass and cellulose. This one made 2019. Unfortunately, newest Bosch Premium show hencho in Mexico (you posted one Whip) and it looked sloppily made compared to US made. Maybe just a bad one. I prefer US made. Thanks for vid. Nice filter.

Ive used Bosch and Mopar OEM in my 5.7 Hemi and i think they are both real good quality.

This and Mobil 1 extended perfornance used to be identical back in 2008-12 or so. Different sticker. Micron rating on the M1 went to 30 though and the Bosch didn't show anything except for the Bosch Distance(Gone and more $$$) at 30. These were always a good and reasonably priced filter.

Looks like a good basic filter that could be used for regular oil change intervals. $3.45 at Rock Auto . Someone who comments here swears by Bosch Premium filters.

Well dang. One time I bought a bunch of these on clearance at Walmart for $3 each and I thought I was getting a great deal. I guess I only saved 45 cents each.

@@josephstarnes8747 The "Distance Plus" went on sale at Wal-Mart when that model of oil filter was discontinued. I don't know why they were discontinued, but I didn't buy any for that reason. The BOSCH Premium is an excellent "5,000-mile" oil filter -- but the 20-Micron Rating keeps me from running it any longer. I want NO CHANCE of the By-Pass Valve opening. I ran Mobil 1 Oil & Filters for years -- THINKING that they were Premium Quality -- but -- much, much research and a Filter Cutter Tool taught me otherwise. Of course, I don't care what YOU choose to run -- I'm just saying about what has worked out very well for ME. 😁

The Bosch premium 3334 I just got from Amazon as of 4/24 delivery, was made in Mexico, with round inlet holes.

The stains on the inside of the can are strange, but the rest of the filter seems to be doing the job.

My 2016 ram will be getting an oil change in a couple months, it has my last distance plus d3334 on it and i dont think they make that line anymore, bought a handfull of them years ago on clearance, i'll send it to you if you wanna test it? will be using a champ xl next change after seeing your videos.

@@ginog5037 I got the Volkswagon filter, still waiting for the Mann filter. Amazon screwed up so I had to order from Walmart. I'm wondering how I'm going to open up these filters, my filter cutter won't work on these. I do have a large pipe cutter, maybe that will work.

Nice filter 👍 Silicone ADBV yet cellulose filter media... I would have liked to see some sort of synthetic blend at least personally but the micron rating was decent @ 20 99% Those spots inside the can were concerning but I'd agree probably didn't affect the oil much. Seems that way. I also would have liked to see more filter media surface area but being close to 100sqin probably good enough. Interesting filter. Nice review 👍

Hi, drum Thanks. Actually, it is a Synthetic blend, this is what Bosch's website says. " A high glass content is woven into the blended media, providing greater efficiency and strength by trapping 99% of the particulates from getting into the engine" I thought it was cellulose but faxmen09 corrected me. My only worry as with a few filters ive seen is the dreaded excess glue ! You would never know if bought new but only after a cut open ! Kinda scary 😬

Lete face it with the Spots and the excess glue their is still lack of quality control.

Unless the "spots" and "excess" glue that you complain about are NOT REASONS TO FAIL the Q.C. tests. What WE think is "poor quality control" may be perfectly within the Q.C. Standards of that facility. Judging from the large number of oil filters from different brands that have the "excess glue" present, it appears that the "excess" glue does not interfere with the function of the oil filters.
