A useful video. Thanks. I have had this model a month and it's been fine so far. It seems well built, fairly easy to use and quiet when running. I was looking for the simplest, easiest machine to use I could find. This was the only one that even vaguely fitted the bill ( there are still too many functions and things on it that make no sense) - one day, manufacturers will realise that less is more for many people and constantly adding 'features' is not what many people want, especially older people! I only ever use the quick wash and 1 hour mixed load wash. All the other programs are pointless for me as is the prewash nonsense, and I would certainly never use a program lasting over 3 hours!

I really like my Bosch washing machine. It’s great. Not the quality of my previous Miele but it’s a much better machine. The Miele was just poor. Another great video. Thanks.

I still occasionally use the prewash cycle...usually for decorating dust sheets followed by a boil wash. Or for cleaning cloths. I’m a little old fashioned I guess, I only have white bedding, white towels and cleaning cloths...keeps laundry simple, in my opinion...

Its crazy how long long these wash cycles are.Max time I would use is 1 hour
@RabbidTheNabbit5 ай бұрын
Just press speed perfect and they will become normal 1-2 hour programs, they make them long so the heating process is more spread out and gives the machine a better energy rating so more people will buy it

For me darks go on a mixed load 40°c around 1h, whites go on cotton 60c, towels on 70c or 90c depending on dirt and bedding on 60c or 70c.

I chose this model specifically as it says it has “delay timer”, but where is it and how can you use it?? 🙏🏻
@lords-electrical25 күн бұрын
On this machine it is the "Finish In" button where you can delay the start of the program in 1 hour increments
@RainbowCharade6 күн бұрын
thanks. May I clarify, should liquid detergent go in the tray or in the drum in a dosing ball?
@lords-electrical5 күн бұрын
It should go in the tray so that the machine can take it in whenever it is required in the wash rather than at the start of the wash when it is filling with water

Is there a way to use spin only? I seem to be getting rinse only instead of rinse and spin! The garment I'm trying to wash keeps coming out soaking wet...
@lords-electrical15 күн бұрын
If you select the Spin option at the bottom of the program selector, then it will only spin the clothes. If you select the Rinse option next to it, then it will rinse the clothes which isn't what you are after.
@Emmajaymusic7 ай бұрын
I use quick wash for almost everything 40 deg and 1200 spin- i just do it twice if i have soiled things. Or i do a quick rinse and spin on 1400 after. Often one 29 min quick wash on 40 deg and 1200 spin is enough. Only thing is not to overload and if slightly over 4kg, i wet washing before putting into machine. . I use mixed load cycle on 60 deg for linen. Odd load i use the cottons or shirts wash. Just 2 adults in house so works for us. A 2-3 hour wash would never suit me, i just want it done. Anything very dirty goes into tub to soak overnight before washing.
@applianceguy7 ай бұрын
How about for all your daily wear use mixed 40 or cotton 20 speed
@Emmajaymusic7 ай бұрын
Two retired adults here so i rarely use the other cycles - i make life as simple as possible for myself- and soak things overnight in the wash trough . Not much use for a washing basket- it gets put straight into machine- wools on cold 29 mins. Or 2 piles snd two fast washes.,i use a hslf cup white vinegar in rinses.,looks good as new always! Ive got the time to fruitle now so i hang it all out carefully and in winter i do same but do a quick tumble dry or put in room with woodheater overnight. Very seldom need an iron or steamer either now. 30 mins cycle every second or third day covers mist things for me

I currently have a Bosch series 6 washing machine in silver I absolutely love it. I was just wondering if I was to move to somewhere that had an integrated kitchen how would I go about putting my freestanding washing machine into the kitchen? Would I just need to remove the plinth at the bottom? The dimensions are pretty standard. Thanks so much.

In theory, yes it should just go in if you cut the plinth at the bottom of the machine

Hi, excellent tutorial. So unless you change the spin speed every load will be spun at 1400. I need a machine with at least 1400 on most loads, rather than re spinning every load Many thanks Jo

I am pretty sure no one uses all these programmes, the 40 mixed load programme uses little water as I have witnessed maybe 15ltrs ish and on the speed perfect this button reduces the time to 45 mins on full load.

You will be correct that most people will only use 2-3 programs on their machines

Many thanks. We recently acquired this model and would be clueless without this video: the instruction manual has clearly been drafted by an oaf and has about as much clarity as Biden on a bad day.
@RabbidTheNabbit5 ай бұрын
I don't think the 60°c and 90°c cotton washes include a prewash, pretty sure it's only the 40°c one (but confusing labeling by bosch either way). Also think you should've mentioned the speed perfect option earlier in the vid, a lot of people would find 3hr normal cotton washes unacceptable, only to realise it's half as much with speed perfect. Otherwise good though
@RainbowCharade6 күн бұрын
yep, but more elec used and possibly slightly more wear to clothes.
@RabbidTheNabbit6 күн бұрын
@RainbowCharade No? A shorter wash will cause less wear to clothes. Also there is no correlation to cycle length and energy consumption
@RainbowCharade6 күн бұрын
@RabbidTheNabbit I understood activating "Speedperfect" increases agitation hence speeding up the wash. This I was told is at the expense of using more electricity all-up. I assume the gentler but longer program would be preferable for reducing wear (this is a problem I suffer a bit with shirt collar wear)...I would take advice on that though!

If you press the "Spin Speed" and "Finish in" buttons at the same time for 3 seconds , that will deactivate the child lock.

Just bought this machine after having a Direct Drive LG for years. We put towels on last night but my wife must not have set spin speed. So the towels have a lot of moisture in still. How can i just spin the load without having to go through a wash cycle. Some of the manual is a bit Double Dutch. Hope someone can please help?
@lords-electrical2 ай бұрын
At the bottom of the program selector there is a Spin option. Select this and select 1400rpm and this should help to get more moisture out of the clothes.

If you are looking at the Miele, then you really need to be comparing that to one of the higher end Bosch machines, not the basic model in the range. That way the spec on the Bosch may be better and have a better warranty too.
