Bose 301 v cannot directly connect to TV?

As a home hifi newbie, I finally work out why we need an amplifier, and how passive speaker works.

I had the same concern as you. I have my Denon receiver with my Klipsch speakers but I was looking for Bose 301 to connect to my Tv in the bedroom. Your video was so useful to me since I was almost buying the Bose speakers which would have been a waste of money. In this time of global crisis and even living in Argentina, wasting money is something unforgivable! Thanks my friend!

It's not silly. I have the same bose speak bought long time ago, I didn't know how to connect them. Now you told me I need a amplifier. Very helpful. Thank you.

Your speakers are on the wrong sides. The reflection speaker is designed to face the side wall to get the effect.

No, they are correct. I have both the 201 and the 301 Check a Bose owner's manual. Actually, that is the ONLY thing he got correct. I couldn't believe when he cut new RCA cords! As has been said, you need to run them through an amplifier.

See if you can find a set of Cinemate series 1 (only analog input red and white) or Cinemate series 2 (digital red and white, with an optical), has a knob on the rear of the Acoustimass beside the plugs for the gain of the lower frequencies. Plug in the Acoustimass, and then you will have three wires connected to the Acoustimass, power (a figure 8 plug), a D pin for the speakers (two wires coming from the reverse side, and they will split to, opposite sides of the television for the speakers), and the third (second D pin for the connecting module. Has the IR to control the power and volume, and that is all that is controlled, Bose remote, or universal, doesn’t matter. Also it has the input/s the red and white series 1/ red and white with optical. Doesn’t matter which one because there’s only one input, with two options for connection.). That is it, three components three/four/five wires, according to the way you look at it. Television to module, wall to Acoustimass, Acoustimass to module, and Acoustimass to speakers. Also if you desire to use speakers such as the 301 you can purchase an amplifier that is not a large boxy thing that sits around the television. They have them that small enough to hold in the palm of your hand, and they have some that you can install inside/behind of the speaker. Power will connect to one, and then you will run a wire to the other speaker. Then you will connect a second wire to the television. A third opinion is; they have speaker systems that you connect power directly to the woofer, and then you will connect the left/right, on some but not all rear left/right, and center to the woofer. The controls are on the woofer, so all speakers.

直接推不行的，电视输出功率太小，连一个普通的功放就好。up 主的301喇叭怎么样用起来，做主音箱还是环绕。

Yep you are right. After I was running around, I finally realised I simply need an amp for the passive speaker. How damn simple !

You are using a lot of electricity with such a tv.. and that is very bad for the environment ........... very bad ...... and you don't need such a big tv either.. quite decadent.
