Ok. I like Bose speakers. It goes way back when some say it was Bose advertising. Well, it worked on me. I wanted to see your review of it because I just love the sound. It really does sound much bigger than it is. It's gotta be Bose engineering.

The same happened to me about the cable or power brick... When i plugged it in... Sometimes fast to charge sometimes very slow but when i tried others power brick it works fine.

I played dubstep at 100 volume on a wave radio and the SoundDock series 2, it does not sound distorted just very loud. The wobble bass sounds more powerful and crisp on a bose speaker than a cheap speaker anyway. You can adapt an older SoundDock with a 30 pin iPod connector into a really nifty Bluetooth speaker that's as good if not better than the Bose Home speaker 500.

I do not currently write music, i only create as a hobby really but there are others who feel the same as you do and I am considering the idea of creating music more often and maybe even creating a sound cloud profile for myself in the future.

Honestly speaking I can't really comment much on the HomeSpeaker 300 as I've never actually heard it in person before. That being said, the two speakers can't really be compared to each other as they have different use cases. Yes they are both smart speakers at heart and have in their name "home" but one is meant to take around with you while the other is stationary. Sound quality is something that is subjective when comparing the two as well. Where one is meant to sound as best as possible taking it all over the place, the other is more comfortable being placed in one spot and project its sound out. What does that mean, well it means that at anytime you may prefer either that's why it's a bit hard to compare the two. Another thing to note is price as well, where as the 300 right now (09/24) on amazon is $199 the Portable is $349 so a huge price difference there. I'd say they both probably sound great but if your not moving it get the 300, if you are going to take it with you all over the place however then get the Portable. Hope this helps out.

Very informative. +I liked your speaker testing. Even though its a smart speaker, I just use the Bluetooth feature. However I purchased a portable wifi unit from my phone carrier. Just a side note. What did you think of the sound touch 30 system 111. I hear its awesome but discontinued. Except maybe ebay.

Bro it charges when it’s off, you just have to turn off again after it turn on when put to charge. Try turning on after an hour around and you will see your battery would be higher

Are you using the charger brick and cable that came with the speaker? My speaker would not charge from the included charger because as stated in the video the charging Brick might be defective and is shorting out the USB C cable that comes with it. You would have to use a different charge brick if you have one in order to test it out.

Took me 2 min to setup the speaker not sure what you did...you need to review product info and help on bose website buds...don't experiment and use trial and error to setup a smart speaker lol

First, tks!!! Great Review. I'm from Brazil and just bought one in Amazon.Us. But I've got a doubt. Right now in Bose Website it is sold as "Bose Portable SMART Speaker" and I chose this one in Amazon thinking it could be a new version of the "Bose Portable HOME Speaker". It just reached the destiny and the picture sent showed me the "HOME" and not the "SMART", which was the one I bought. Could you tell me if they are rhe same? Have they changed names for a commercial purpose, maybe? I'm afraid I got different stuff than I paid for.

Thank you for the kind words firstly! This if I'm seeing this right looks and smells like a nice marketing tactic by Bose to make it sound like a new thing when in reality it's not. I still have the Box for mine and it clearly says "HOME" front and center on it. SO long story made short, it looks just like a website name change most likely. I can't see them refreshing the speaker so fast when based on the Bose forums they have quite a bit of fixing to do lol. You should be getting the correct thing. The only reason they probably renamed it is because it is technically a smart speaker with the use of Alexa or Google Assistant. Hopefully this puts things at ease a little for you and thank you again for watching!

Is it better than revolve plus in terms of pure audio quality?

To be honest, from what i've read up on and studied about the two, this speaker does have a slight edge on sound quality over the revolve+. Now personally to me since the revolve+ works only on Bluetooth unlike the Portable Home Speaker which has Airplay and Bluetooth it's one less thing the speaker has to worry about since i feel the Airplay interferes with the Bluetooth and vice versa. Personally i'd say even though it's slightly down in sound the Revolve+ more than makes up for it with its better battery performance, more stable connection and you can pair two Revole+'s in stereo unlike the Portable Home Speaker which can't. Hope this helps!

Greetings and thanks for watching! The total charge time from a dead battery to full for the Bose is around 4 hours based on Bose's website if you use the provided cable and charge brick that comes with the speaker. However if you're like me and the charge brick and cable were bad out the box then charging it with a third party cable and brick is no issues so long as they give an output of 18watts or higher. Anything lower and the speaker will not accept the charge well.

Unfortunately no you can't. You can't even pair two of these speakers together for a true stereo pair, all you can do to so called "pair" this to another speaker is use the airplay function with other airplay devices and use it that way which is just pairing a bunch of speakers together, not really pairing them in a stereo mode. Bose really limited the potential of this speaker big time.

Unfortunately no it cannot. The mics on the speaker are only programmed to be in use for the voice assistant when commanding it to do something and with no AUX port to maybe try and bypass it, the speaker essentially can only be used for music and be your hub for you smart home.

In my country I paid $460 for this speaker. What a waste of money. All the reviews never mention how it constantly disconnects itself and how the bluetooth signal wil get interupted by other bluetooth devices. This from a Bose??! My wife's cheap Jbl doesn't even have these malfunctions

As long as the TV has Airplay or Bluetooth sure you can. It's not replacing a sound bar/system by any means but it'll get the job done.
