nice video...not a fan of Bose flat sound signature, so I would ever buy a pair of Bose. I have a pair of V-Moda's Crossfade wireless and the bass is not bad...wish it was stronger that's why I'm going for the Sony's when the hype dies down and Sony realizes that they are charging too much for them. I wish I could sell my V-MODA'S that are in mint condition for around 200.00....I would in a heartbeat to get the Sony's

Actually you can identify the sony xb950b1/n1 ear-cup placement by touching a small protruding dot on the left ear-cup holder (just above the power button). That is to indicate the left ear-cup with the protruding dot, while the right one doesnt have. This helps during night time when there is less light around.

Hi. I was testing hardly those two headphones, also I have MDR1000x but its another story. So many people suffers from cabin preasure pain. I gonna focus on that. Sony - very low 'cabin preasure' when NC- on (I am sensitive on that). Outstanding ! Bose 35 - medium-low cabin preasure, so much better from its prevoius model - great job Bose. Noise canceling level (3 hours testing: work, home, next to TV)- Bose 85 % sounds killed. Sony about 70% . I could save those propotions for a sound quality comparison also. Price to quality relation shows easily a big winner for me. But, difference is real and if you can affort on Bose, go for it without questioning ;)

I have the xb95 ones. I noticed when I first got them and still does it. Is if I’m listening to music with the bass effect on. It’ll play for a little bit. Then it’ll do little skips. Like one skip per song. Or 2 songs. Every now and then a really small skip will come. So it’ll skip for only a second then it’ll be back on and working for awhile. It even does that if I’m sitting really still with the phone close by. Why does it do this? Other then the skips it’s fine.

anddo24 I'm actually thinking about buying either one of them help! I'm not interested in n1s as they are pretty similar but more expensive than 950bt. I want to know how does 950bt compares to 1000x in sound quality? I'm not really a bass head but 1000x is almost 2.5x the price of it so I wanted to know if it's worth to spend that extra or just get the bts? NC is a sweet feature but I don't think it really makes me pay way more for it.

Don't get the 950BT unless you primarily listen to bass music. The BT has no internal way of reducing its bass.. and it is heavily accented. And this is without the bass boost. Put the bass boost on and it is pretty much distorted. Now, if you have an EQ on your source, then you can reduce the bass and turn up the high-end to get something that is a bit more neutral. But this can be a pain, and probably won't run system wide. The 950N1 corrects this, by allowing you to control the bass from the headset. So in actuality, you could make the bass on the N1 even less than the QC35! The 1000x is overall a much more balanced sound signature. Which means if you listen to acoustic and instrumental work, it will sound more realistic without all the bass interfering with the mids. You can also look into the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless (get the larger around ear one). This doesn't have NC, and that can be a good thing. Active Noise Cancelling can utilize DSP that can mess with the sound signature.BTW the 950N1 uses a different type of NC, that is why it doesn't sound like you are getting cabin pressurization like on the QC35. It can be a cool effect, being sealed away from sound, but the passive isolation offered by closed headphones can be good enough (plus you retain some situational awareness). If you don't mind wired headphones, you'll generally get better sound for the dollar. NAD VISO HP50 would be a good recommendation. Sony Hear DR-100AAP, Oppo PM-3, all good closed backs that can also work as portables.

+Peter B yes. The EQ settings should update the firmware of the headphones themselves so your settings should follow you from device to device until you readjust in the app.

I've never tried any Bose headphones, so I'm unqualified to comment on them. However, (and I'm not even positive what I'm about to say will even hold any factual weight, I guess depending on what you're interested in), Sony headphones and specs have ALWAYS been great for recording and engineering in a studio. They were CRUCIAL to me when I was mixing and mastering in post production too. The reason being that they always had a sound that could closely compare to ANY choice of medium you choose to play music through. So to put it simply, if you wanted to hear how the mix would sound in your car compared to in your stereo in your home compared to even a cassette tape deck in your garage, Sony brand headphones 100% of the time gave me the best representation of how my recording was going to sound across all mediums and systems, so they have always been a staple of mine because I've always been able to hone in (through eq bands) on a nice balanced mix through just about any Sony headphone. Im aware it's apple's to orange's, but get a pair of $99 wired Sony studio headphones to keep as a back up pair. I guarantee that you'll end up switching to them at some point when your main pair can't quite get that sound you want. Hope this was a helpful tip! (For the record, I'm SURE the Bose sound great, just trying to give my experience through years of playing and recording music) HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

I have purchased both and used both I bought the bose first and the sonys second since i got the sonys for less than $150 (i think right now on ebay they are under $100). I like the bose better but the sonys are nice too. Then again i agree with the video noise cancel is much much better on the bose. Also another thing could just be me but i do wear my headphones for 5-6 hours at a time when i do and the bose are a bit more comfortable to me.

The Sony's have amazing sound quality and the Bass Effect is amazing however the build quality is utter shit and the headphones will break in a few months even with very careful use, Mine broke after just taking them off and I've went through 2 pairs So I can not recommend.

The wife and I have owned the NON noise cancelling version - same headphones and build quality for over 3 years. She uses them daily and we have both never had an issue with them whatsoever. So you must be wrestling greased up hairy men as you dance to ABBA as the build quality on these is very impressive.
