My use-case is that I have to connect it via mac and company for some reason doesn't allow bluetooth peripherals other than company certified so round about way is to either use audio jac or type c cable. Nice review but ... no ANC discussion and comparison? Really? ANC should be top priority for this kind of headphones reviews. I am not buying them for sound quality as there are tons of better sounding cheaper headphones. Their main use case is ANC.

I just got mine and i love them. I absolutely love immersive audio. This is something i was concerned about bc im half deaf. So i cannot hear in stereo. But keeping the motion setting on (not the still setting) i didnt notice any gaps which was nice. And definitrly noticed a difference in sound stage. I also love the case. I travel for work so i was definitely looking for something compact and travel friendly Also to add, for 10+ years i refused to go wireless. Call me crazy, but this is my very first pair of wireless bluetooth headphones. So for me personally, MAJOR upgrade. I decided I was ready for bluetooth after listening to music on occasion through my hearing aid.

So you decide to review a premium grade noise-cancelling headset, but complain that it costs too much? How much do you think these should sell for and what are you basing that price on?
@RawansReviews10 ай бұрын
It's "premium" by the company's own definition. Just because a company says their product is premium, doesn't particularly have to be, and we don't particularly have to agree it is. I personally think it priced higher than it should for what it has to offer. It's your prerogative to disagree.

I just got these, sadly they have a strong noticable background humm when noise cancelling is off. Turning it on eleminates that humm. And still, the cable-microphones of cheap in ear headphones that came with phones 5 years ago do still sound way better. Bluetooth headphones never got to that Quality :/ Will be returning them after the 90 Days test period.

Hi there! I recently got the famous Bose QC Ultra Headphones, and I can confirm that despite the drivers (speakers) being similar to the Bose NCH 700, this very recent model sounds even better than its predecessor. I also have the Sony WH-1000-XM4, and find that the QC Ultra's sound signature is much clearer than the Sony model. What's more, a little adjustment of the well-rounded bass, and the midrange drive the point home even further. *As a preventive measure, I'd advise you *not to exceed 65% volume, and to take a few listening breaks for the sake of your ears (15 to 20 minutes for 1 hour's listening).* Indeed, these headphones have a lot in reserve, and I didn't notice any major sound distortion, which is very good quality. But be careful with your ears, because they're really powerful! And yes, the sound is very clear! Lightweight (257 grams), it folds neatly and has a wider, more comfortable headband. The depth of the speakers (especially for big ears - you don't sweat as much as with Sony headphones) and its active noise reduction are truly impressive! Somewhat superior to Apple's Air Pods Max, that is! For the moment (2023), in concrete terms, *it's the best noise-canceling headset!* At the same time, it's the most recent. We'll see how it fares next year (2024), with the future Sony WH-1000-XM6 and Apple Air Pods Max 2. The "attentive" (transparent) mode is a real success! A notch below the Air Pods Max, and a good notch above the WH-1000-XM4/5. You can clearly hear everything around you. The immersive mode is a bit of a gimmick, as it gives the impression that the soundstage is getting bigger, but I still find it well worthwhile, especially for films and video games! That's another world! I also note that this mode is a little more energy-hungry in terms of this product's autonomy (around 19h35 for me, as opposed to the 18 hours announced by Bose). In fact, as far as battery life is concerned, I think that Bose has underestimated its headphones, because without the immersive mode, and staying at 60~65% maximum volume, I've actually gone up to around 30 hours. The official press release claims 24 hours' autonomy. . What's more, a mode (even two) designed to cleverly save battery power has been integrated: _ Like Apple and Sony, the sound stops when the QC Ultra is removed... And restarts once the device is placed back on the head. _ Automatic sleep mode, when the headset is removed for a long time. It restarts automatically when put back on. Automatic pairing, no headaches, it works like a charm. Multipoint is amply correct, and the solid Bluetooth is certified in 5.3 (the latest available), which is much better in terms of wireless connection stability. A very good point in itself. The WH-1000-XM4 (which is in bleuetooth 4.2) that I've owned since 2021 can cut out from time to time for no reason at the moment... I don't know why. Maybe it's due to my smartphone being almost full of internal memory? I don't know. In any case, I no longer have this little inconvenience with the Bose QC Ultra. The application is nice and quite rich! It's straight to the point, and somewhat less sophisticated than Sony's, whose geekiness is its specialty. As for the buttons, they're all located on the right speaker, behind the ear. A touch-sensitive surface for volume, and incidentally a personalized touch-sensitive button (press for 2 seconds in the middle of the touch-sensitive surface and that's it), either to obtain a voice assistant, or to indicate battery level or something else, for example... Personally, I opted for the battery level. How convenient! And in terms of physical buttons, there are only 2. . The first, at the bottom of the right-hand speaker, is reserved for switching on the headset. . The second button is located a little higher up, towards the rear of the speaker. . The second button is located a little higher up, towards the back of the speaker. This button allows: _ 1 short click: play / pause; 1 long click: change mode (immersive, attentive, silent - additional modes can be added and/or removed, such as the outdoor mode with its more or less successful optional "windbreaker" function, for example); _ 2 quick clicks: next track; _ 3 quick clicks: previous track. Personally, I find these two physical buttons rather instinctive and less headache-inducing (100% subjective, of course). As for the tactile part, I find it better thought-out than the NCH 700 and the Sony WH-1000-XM4/5, in the sense that there's no tactile conflict when unwanted rubbing occurs, such as fabric rubbing when you're in bed, or when you're putting on a hood. The left speaker features a USB-C input for headphone charging only, and an input for... A 2.5 mm jack!... The 2.5 mm jack... I'll never understand why that is... Especially as the headphones must be switched on to be effective(!)... I really don't understand this choice... As far as phone calls are concerned, the people I'm talking to can hear me clearly, even when there's a lot of noise around me! It's not as sophisticated as the Air Pods Max, but it's still one of the most effective. My voice is clearly audible, and it's possible to adjust the volume of the voice when telephoning via the headset. I write this because none of the testers mentioned this detail generally. Unfortunately, it's impossible to obtain lossless sound via a wired USB-C cable (which is quite incomprehensible to me, especially given its high price at the moment). The French Batys headphones, for example (albeit more expensive than the QC Ultra), make this possible. Finally, the price is high (499€) for the moment, but will inevitably drop in the coming months (logically). And then the bargains will start rolling in over the coming year. It has to be! So, I've tried to be as complete as possible about my pleasant experience with these Bose Quiet Confort Ultra Headphones. Expensive, yes, it's undeniable, but very pleasant to hold, not at all uncomfortable on the head, light and very comfortable, this top-of-the-range headset (2023) does quite well, if not very well. A special mention for the active noise reduction, which so far puts it ahead of Apple and Sony. All in all, this headset is a success, far from flawless, let's be honest, but what it does, it does really well. Very satisfied overall. Oh yes, I almost forgot: *the ear pads are detachable and therefore replaceable, in case of any long-term wear and tear.* Hoping for interesting updates (USB-C wired sound, I dream of it!) to come! Thanks for your work sir 👍🏾🔥! Looking forward to hearing from you!

So I actually pre-ordered these and I've had them for 3 days as I've been looking to upgrade my Bose QC 35 II that I bought back in 2020 and I've been debating whether or not to get these or the Apple AirPods Max. Because the QC Ultra's are new and have newer tech (compared to Apple), I had really high hopes for these QC Ultra's. I will say that the redeeming quality of these headphones is Immersive mode (because I listen to most things in spatial audio), and the bass depth and definition is a monstrous upgrade. But, I will agree with you that these are definitely not worth the $430 price tag. These feel more like $299 headphones. These are comfy for the fit and I don't have to stuff my ears into them as it feels like the ear cups are bigger, but I feel kinda underwhelmed by these. They don't really wow me or make me want to keep these. Bose does have a 90 day worry-free guarantee that I'll take advantage of, but I have a feeling that these will be returned long before then.

@@RawansReviewsThank you for this review of these. I just bought them. I have purchased for everything, but also a modality of therapy, where I must lie down and definitely hear her, for 3-4 hours. If not it will not be a good thing. What is, as the apps updated a bit, the hearing of your own voice means? I have it off. I thought it meant and hope I’m correct?, I don’t hear myself talking when on a call, but they hear me or meeting?. I was hoping I do not have to buy a (I’m a new headphone user since the 90’s lol), a boom microphone to help with this? I don’t have one. Btw, if anyone wants/needs an inline microphone, they have the Quiet Comfort, that fits these and works. Excellent review😊. Wind block is good and turning up noise cancellation, you really don’t hear anything. Even a vacuum cleaner. You had it right next to your headphones 😂. Since when did a microphone become such a deal breaker for headphones? I use my xm1/1000x for the best noise cancellation when mowing the lawn versus my xm4 earbuds. So many complaining in the comments but I've rarely used my headphones to pick up a call and when I do, its quick. Others in the comments also complaining about the noise when noise-cancelling is turned off like am I the weird one who never turns it off? That's the selling point of these higher end headphones. Currently I use the xm1/1000x headphones when gaming and on discord but with an external lav style mic (since windows doesn't play happy with bluetooth audio and the inbuilt mic). I have no issues and can wear them for hours so on Tuesday when these arrive, that will be the real test. Thank you for the review Rawan. Thanks! Bose quotes 24 hours with ANC, and 18 with immersive audio. My guess here, since you can't really turn off ANC completely (you can dial down to have Aware Mode), the external mics and circuitry is always working, so I don't think you'll be getting around the same use time either way. You can dial ANC all the way down (so Aware Mode), but it's not possible to switch it off completely, like what was possible on the QC35s.

Personally for me this was a bit disappointing. Also doesn’t support lossless? And everything else Apple already been doing. I was hoping it would blow Airpod max out the water but with airpod max 2 coming out soon I don’t see the point to pick this up other than for comfort 😅

Good honest review. My thoughts on this product is 100% on par with everything you said. It has great comfort and top tier noise cancelling. The aware mode is the best and most natural I’ve experienced so far on any headphone. I like the immersive audio feature as it significantly opens up the soundstage. But, I do think they are overpriced. The build quality is not as you’d except at the price point. The earcups and headband feels cheap and hollow and you can hear the plastic when you touch them while they’re on your head. There’s also a slight creaking sound which can be heard sometimes. This was rather disappointing because on my other headphones I’ve never experienced this. My xm5’s are so much more silent and immersive. Other than that I think it’s a good pair of headphones.

They feel a hell more like $430 headphones than Apples $550 AirPod Max. Not sure what you think a $430 headphones feel like but I care more about what they sound like and the comfort than Im concerned about whether they feel like $430 headphones. I think the headphones are great from what I have listened to so far, I can care less if you or anyone feels like it doesnt feel like $430 headphones. Honestly it makes no sense with what you said.

I really wanted this to be my way back to Bose after Sony xm3, and 4 from Sony. But honestly comparing with xm 5 which is now over a year old the mic on the Bose Ultra sound terrible, the battery life 6hours behind Sony, Sony charges 3 hours battery life 3x faster, the Ultra just upscaled audio for spacial effect instead of the well established dolby atmos format. When the NC here is just microscopically better than Sony XM5 as visualized in different review on youtube it just doesnt justify the higher price. Guess I’m going Sony once again and saving money at the same time

@davinci745 Жыл бұрын
@@ger.1855 There is only one downside I’ve experienced with XM4 and that is the well know clicking noice the plastic frame sometimes can make during movement. This they have «solved» on XM5 by ditching the folding mechanism. However it has never been substantial enough to irritate me. As for the tech side of things the headphones they’ve been flawless for me.

seems like the meaning of still and motion mode is mixed in this review, because motion is what all previous /standard headphones did (following you) while still is for not following which makes sense if you watch TV for instance. The sound remains in a fixed position then when you turn your head, exactly as your TV screen does. Still mode is the new experience.

So disappointing that years after QC45 all they are able to improve are ANC (which should been better to begin with) and BT 5.3. Such a letdown. How is this an ultra model when it has the same drivers as the 700 from years ago?
@yu-gi-oase7498 Жыл бұрын
First of all, the drivers of the nc 700 arent bad. Bose just has a very linear sound profile for consumer headphones, where normal people will say it sounds bad because your ears arent getting blown out by the bass, while the sound actually is pretty good. Listen to reviews of the nc700 from audiophiles and they most likely will like the sound (none of the consumer headphones has a sound as good as expensive monitor headphones). With that fact out of the way. The qc ultra are very comfortable, have very good anc with wind noise block (excellent feature), very good aware Mode, intuitive controls, wearing detection, multipoint Connection, immersive mode, Bluetooth 5.3 and a aptx adaptive codec. Although theyre definitly Not perfect (no headphones are), theyre definitly "ultra". But that changes nothing to the fact that the price is way too high.

(I returned the xm4 as it was garbage crackling and popping in earcup) I will never, EVER, Ever buy another sony piece of crap again. The only problems ive had with the bose were a little wind noise, but hey even the phone did the same in wind, and earcups wore out quicker as i was constantly going for the bose over the garbage sonys. Why? The sonys suck for phone calls, "i cant hear you" "you sound far away" "am i on speaker" etc etc etc. Never on the bose, never. Yeah i like the muddy dirty bass on thr sonys beacsue i like that, but due to the fact that i cannot reliably take a friggin phone call and quality issues with every xm except the xm3. I hope these are a game changer. I need a new pair and dont want to keep wasting money.

What do you mean by “the music comes to life” what kind of BS Jargon is this? I’ve had these for the past few weeks and noticed the immersive audio actually reduces the quality and makes the audio sound like it’s coming from a bathroom or kitchen.. it negatively affects the base, the treble and the mid.. it’s pure garbage and just a way for Bose and the likes to show they got a new “spatial surround” sound.. man these marketing gimmicks and bullshit advertising is worse than ever and yall online are also culprits since you get paid by the same companies to advertise these BSs.. Save your money and stick to the NC 700.. they’re more comfortable and slightly louder than the QC comfort Ultra and look way better.
