Bose S1 Pro Karaoke DJ Venue Sound Test Review

This is a sound test review using 2 Bose S1 Pro speakers at one of my venues. This is a great set of speakers. And for a great price considering the Bose sound quality.
I'm very satisfied with the performance of the
Bose S1 Pro. Sound traveled great and evenly and was not
pushed to the limit. Battery life for events like this are just
under 4 hours. Not as long as I was expecting. However, they
are extremely lightweight to carry at 15 pounds each and easy to set up. I used the
Bose T1 Tonematch for routing my sound from my laptop and
microphones to the speakers.
I used vocopro microphones for this sound test.

The Bose might work in that environment, but many others have mentioned that the Bose is not very loud unless you preamp it ! That alone puts the Bose in the 99% category of all battery-powered amplifiers... THEY ARE NOT LOUD ENOUGH IN A VERY NOISY ENVIRONMENT !!! To me not loud enough is an automatic deal-breaker ! There's at least two other major shortcomings that the Bose has, there's no way for you to extend the battery life when your out and about unless you have already purchased another $99 Bose battery from Bose and brought it along with you, you can only use a Bose battery...... and that sucks !!!! Bose also chose not to include a way for you to use a battery pack or a cigarette lighter adapter to extend its running time after the Bose battery dies ! To me this is a major setback and a gigantic inconvenience and for many other people I would believe this would be a deal-breaker unless you know for a fact that you will never need to perform over 4 hours. I know of 2 battery-powered amplifiers that are loud enough to use in a very noisy environment and 1 of them has been discontinued and unfortunately it is the best one of the two by far ... it is the Carvin S600B, and the other one is the Laney 4x4 . The Carvin retailed for around 7 or $800 and the Laney retails for around $450. The Laney weighs around 15 lb and the Carvin weighs maybe 8 pounds more. I would say the Carvin is at least twice as powerful as the Laney and I would also say that the Carvin projected it' sound maybe twice as far as the Laney. Size wise the Carvin looks to be about twice as big as the Laney. The Carvin should be loud enough for any street performer whereas the Laney which is a much smaller unit may or may not be loud enough for the noisiest environments !

Hi, this particular model is great in this environment and I have a lot of singers that prefer the sound of them in this setting. I agree the battery does not last as long as I would like so I plug them in. And they are only 15 pounds and fit easily in any vehicle which are both great perks. However, whenever I DJ at the water park I use two of the the L1 model 1 bose speakers and 2 subs. They reach all the way across the water park.(about 2 city blocks). I've even been asked to turn them down a few times. The bands that come out to play are always blown away by their sound. I recommend the right mixing board for whatever you are doing. This makes a big difference in your control over how your music sounds. (I don't always use the bose mixers. It depends on where I am) I've had a lot of people switch to bose after hearing them at my events.

I just used these at an outdoor wedding ceremony blue toothing from my phone. These were incredible!

I also have 2 other types of speaker set ups. So depending on the job I do will determine what speakers are appropriate. These are great for average gigs and super lightweight too. A good set to have in your DJ inventory.❤❤❤

Well they are rechargeable but the battery only last about 3 hours.
