The Torx bits, aside from having the security hole, are 5-star, NOT 6-star! I did find some 5-point bits on Amazon and purchased the 2" long versions, as the bit has to get down that tube/channel to reach the head of the screw. I'm getting ready to detach the battery and reattach a new one. Thanks for posting the video!

Thanks for posting. Ignore the negative imbeciles. Your video shows what you need to know and what to expect to change the battery and you accomplished the goal. I don't see the the screw heads as a negative, you told people the correct one to use a five point security type, and showed what happened when you don't use them. The plugs can be removed with a micro flathead screwdriver. I was able to removed them and you can barely see a mark. I saw some guy drilled them out wow. Again the right tool make the job easy

@elds35374 жыл бұрын
Evan S amber blink indicates charging, green solid indicates full charge on battery. Time is the best way to determine if you need a new battery. Does it stay on long enough for your use after a full charge? If answer is yes, no sweat just enjoy it! I swapped my battery because I noticed the battery would deplete much faster than when it was new. the battery swap gave it a new lease on life for my use case.

Matt Elds Elder Good point. However, I left the device under strong sunlight and it started acting funny for some time. Last night and after 6 months i charged it for over 10 hrs and it gave me combined blinks of amber and green which was the reason that made me think the battery needs to be replaced. Thanks for your prompt reply and useful video.

@@elds3537 there are a lot of videos out there for doing things that are illegal, dangerous, etc just because it exists doesn't mean it should be done. We already have overly heavy regulations on Lithium-ion cells because of all of the incorrect use, assembly, and disposal of lithium batteries. The correct method of assembly is using a pressure tack welder that pushes copper slugs into nickel strap metal. There are already 18650 batteries that have soldier tabs on them so that you can soldier it right to the preexisting control board.

@@UltimateViper Do you think it would be okay to just use electrical tape instead?
@UltimateViper3 жыл бұрын
@@W2811 no general electrical tape is not a permanent way to affix metal contacts to any other surface it should be used as a temporary insulator only as the adhesive is susceptible to breaking down due to heat and time. It's why Electrical tape gets gummy and leaves residue everywhere after being used for long periods of time. Even in insulation applications correct use of heat shrink and rubbercoatings would give a more finished and professional look.
