Speaker Toni, Thanks for the informative video. I now know how to take the speakers out of it. Sadly, the speakers in mine work great. I have no idea how to take the battery out and replace it, and I haven't had any luck on finding out how to do it. The battery seems to be soldered directly to the board. It's going in the trash and I'll get a less expensive bluetooth speaker.

@MiniBoatin' I have to hand it to Bose, they’ve repaired my speaker a couple times for free. I think I kept inadvertently damaging the charging system by using a third-party charger. The last time they fixed it they said the unit now had another 12 month warranty, so that’s cool.

It looks like this battery is connected by a ribbon cable to a smaller daughterboard which apparently is directly soldered onto the board instead of having a connector to unplug. I'm looking to replace the battery but it's hard to find the exact one with the ribbon cable. I've seen other's with a sort of laptop li-ion battery connector you just lay down and it fits into place which I was able to find this battery but the one i mentioned earlier, I can't find.

@556andy Жыл бұрын
Passive radiators enhance bass if you ever hold the passive radiators on a jbl speaker while it’s playing music the bass will disappear completely and no 4 speakers would not be powered no space and youd need another amp and bigger battery

Is the battery proprietary? I couldn't tell from the video. I think mine crapped out after almost 2 years so I need to replace it. Thanks.
@gabrielbarreda227 жыл бұрын
diycentral If you have the soundlink mini 1 the battery it's removable but Bose doesn't make the batteries for the soundlink mini 1 any more you can still find it on line but they are 130 us dollars, your best bet is to call Bose corporate they will replace it for like 80 us dollars and 1 years warranty, if you have the soundlink mini 2 the batery is the same but this one has a hard wire that goes from the inside of the battery to the mother board in the unit it self so in others words dead end to, they really don't want to make easy replacement battery or they would be out of business, believe me I try to fix my soundlink and since I couldn't do it I paid the 82 dollars send my old one and they send me a new SoundLink Mini 2, in overall happy with the outcome!
@diycentral7 жыл бұрын
Apparently the system goes into a battery saving mode when it sits for a long time which mine does so all I had to do is a reboot and it's up and running like normal again :)
@douglasmubirigi44146 жыл бұрын
yes normally that's what it does but mine isn't working even after doing all that they suggest but i find another method to try, there is a way of connecting two wires to the battery wires and try to recharge it a little bit manually.

Quick Mind trust me their pathetic compared to bose, I have opened thousands of clones that people thought were real but aren't, they use weak ferrite/paper cones with no bass transducers, weaker amp and DSP processing forsure, overall build quality is shitty, they Use one 18650 battery which is very weak on battery life, and it has a lower wattage output, I can go on for days about how weak this speaker is compared to bose. They also don't tune it so it's completely distorted and flat sounding, and the Bluetooth signal is weak (another note is most fake speakers use a really bad Chinese voice that doesn't speak clear English at all)

Well I bought two of the first SoundLink Minis. A long story short the first one was in storage for quite some time as I was looking for a new place to live after I sold my apartment. I missed it so bought it again. The first was made in Mexico. The second one was made in Malaysia. Yes both original and bought from reputable big sellers. While they're just about identical there's subtle differences. The overall impression is though that the Mexico one is the better. Really looking at printings, rubber on buttons etc. the Mexico is best. Not that the Malaysian is bad it's just not quite on par if you're really nitpicking. Sound wise I think there's more bass in the Mexico. Overall I prefer the Mexico one. That aside I also find it refreshing when a product isn't made in the far east.
