Bought the 400 last week and just wow, starting off simple. Salmon was amazingly cooked with superb crispy skin. Chicken breasts quick and easy. Burger and chips.... both baskets same time, turned burgers after five minutes and shook chips after five minutes. Another five minutes each and dinner's ready! Plenty to learn but most impressive and best of all..... low running costs. Don't be afraid to vary timings etc until you get a proper feel for it. Tonight I had some risotto heated up in the microwave along with a couple of two day old bread rolls which were looking a bit chewy. Five minutes in the airfrier at 180 and hey Presto, lovely crisp crust and warm soft inside. Butter and eat! It's the instant readiness of the Ninja which makes it so useable as I wouldn't have bothered turning on our double oven, waiting fifteen minutes for it to heat up, then popping in two rolls. Remember it's just a small oven, which is faster, cheaper to run and easier to clean. I pop some washing up liquid into the pan/s, top up with warm water and come back ten minutes later to clean out, so no need for a sink full of water. Fantastic and recommend all day long!

This will be our second one as the first one had a fault on day one, so I’ve been looking at all dual drawer air fryers. I love pain au raisin and it does take 15mins to preheat in our fan oven so would they be about the same time as pain au chocolat In the ninja ? Thanks for the excellent review

Great review. I've been using the Ninja DZ for 8 months now and I have to say that it is a game changer. Single bloke, family grown up and (thankfully) left home 😃. The big oven is redundant as there's nothing that I can't do in the Ninja. Steaks are so easy to do. Easy cleaning and low maintenance are a bonus.

I was just thinking, living in Devon in the early 90's the dehydration setting would have been wonderful for the magic mushrooms we used to pick on Exmoor. We used to have to pack them in newspaper, in small quantities and wait for days for them to dry. Where was Ninja then?

This is probably the best concise review on the Ninja dual I’ve seen, a couple things I’ve found that may be of benefit. I roasted a whole chicken, I used a Meater thermometer, i discovered that the oven temperature runs 20c above the setting, ie, 180c gives me 200c internal temp, this can make a substantial difference on longer cooks, on the 2nd chicken I did I set it to 160c and got the perfect balance of being cooked and brown crispy skin, (on my ninja) Secondly, the silicon inserts do become unsightly after a few uses, personally we’ve got used to it as they save the draw coating from extra wear, they certainly clean better in the dishwasher. It’s a proven game changer for us.
@CandidClara Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment, that’s all really useful feedback. The silicone inserts are good but can lead to soggy bottoms when baking (and no one wants one of those!)

In my apartment the breakers are only 15 amp and all my appliances trip them consistently. I discovered that the new oven has a 20 amp plug built in. I use this for all my appliances since the stove is wired to a 30 amp appliance socket. This is the only plug I can use for my air fryer.

I’ve got a Nija speedi and I love it, but I haven’t used the special meals, program as much as I though I would, I’ve not used my oven once since last March, and the hob I’ve only used to poach a few eggs. I think I could easily take the oven out of the kitchen really, there’s only the 2 of us. So I am now thinking of buying the Nija dual control, because I often cook meat on the bottom plate and juggle the veg or chips on one of the shelves that you use for dehydrating.

Was thinking of getting the stacked Ninja to save space; thanks to this channel I got this instead to get proper top down heat rather than back to front, and just decided to suck it up and live with the loss of counter space. Finally got it and have done just a few meals in it and so far it's brilliant. Definitely no buyer's remorse here. Did some bacon, which was fantastic - heating the oven to do bacon is such a production and then you have to clean it, and frying on the stove you have a meter sized circle of spattered bacon fat all around the pan, so I never bother. With this? Insert rashers, push button, wait and out comes perfect bacon. Now I just need to somehow resist scarfing down bacon all the time... Also did chicken breasts and frozen french fries, chicken was perfect, the fries were overdone using the Ninja booklet's times but live and learn. Already a game-changer for frozen foods, which went from a bit laborious to the easiest thing ever... insert product, push button and wait, well maybe a shake halfway. Cleaning... well, I'll probably hand wash to extend the life of the drawers but ran it through the dishwasher on a short program just to see how that went and they were squeaky clean. Doesn't get much easier. Apple crumble tomorrow for dessert, I think! 😀

After some research I bought a Cosori 12 litre airfryer oven (also from Amazon), it has a smaller footprint than your Ninja, it has 10 cooking modes plus the additon of a Rotisserie (whch also comes with a drum for cooking chips etc), it cooks pizzas and it can grill. It is also a full convection oven and can do anything that your main oven do - size permitting. It has adjustable trays which can be raised or lowered, a glass fronted door with an internal light so that you can see what's happening. It doesn't cook in deep bins so everything just slides out in front of you. It's made of stainless steel so unlikely to suffer from the melting problem reported by some Ninja users. Currently it's 40 quid cheaper than the Ninja, all seems a no brainer to me.

It’s a nightmare to cook e. g. my sausages an her’s on the hob at the same time with spitting fat potential “contaminating” her veggie sausages (as well as making a general mess)… cook each in each bucket and no problem!

Thanks for the comment, always lovely to hear the video has been useful! Sausages tonight in our house too (strictly meat ones though, don’t tell your other half!) 😉

Yes I love how if as a couple you eat different things at the same time you can cook them individually but can time them to finish at the same time! Wonderful and such an energy saver as I was constantly having to cook one meal for my husband who is a very plain eater and then start again for myself as I like spicy take aways and southern fried kitchen etc. which he doesn't like.

Hello- thank you for this wonderful review and your other video on accessories recommendations. Quick question- the US version I recently bought for my mother has the setting "Air Broil" as the first mode on the left. I can reasonably assume it is the same as "Max Crisp?" Anyhow, I had previously seen a few other vids from the UK where "Max Crisp" was mentioned with earlier models and wasn't sure where it was on our US version.

Yes, I believe Air Broil is the same as Max Crisp

I just saw this in a leaflet posted through my door, I've held off buying airfryers because my mom found out the other (cheaper) models have a certain coating, that's made of a material that can cause Cancer; but my mom tells me the Ninja make of airfryers don't have that coating, but a safe one instead, so basically I'm going for this model and I trust my mom 💯 cause she's big on healthy, organic better living lifestyle.

Great informative review. You're an absolute natural. Just one question. Do you have to turn items over halfway through cooking e.g frozen sausages that the instructions are to do this in a conventional oven, thanks.

Hi Clara, great video. You say you love the ease of cleaning the baskets. I got the AF451UK in February & absolutely love it. My only concern is cleaning the fan section as it gets splashed during cooking. I have watched a few videos & am trying to keep it as clean as possible, even considering using a small, hand-held steam cleaner. Any suggestions?
@CandidClara Жыл бұрын
I have to say that so far with ours, poking a cloth around the heat elements has sufficed and I think if and when it needs more it looks like you can unscrew the element to get behind it completely, but I’m not sure if the AF300 and AF451 are identical…

I almost bought one of these. But changed my mind and went for and XLPro toast over air fryer insted. I live in a small social housing apartment that has a 6 x 6 kitcehn and little ot no storage. I already had a toaster overn that I was doing a majority of my cooking with sicne the large oven takes too long to heat up and is filled with cockroaches. I really did not have anyspace to store another large appliacne. I instead decided to upgrade my toaster oven instead. Also, being able to do larger items like who chickens and steaks was difficult in the Ninja. This might be a considration for others considering this appliacne. THe XLPro comes with two baskets, a pan, and a grill palte that will hold two t-bone steaks side by side.

Thank you for this in-depth review. After your review, I ordered the AF400 myself. After a few times, I noticed the anti-stick layer chipping off in both drawers in three very small spots. Do you or anyone else know what the anti-stick layer is made of? Is it PTFE or a ceramic layer? How much of a problem is it when I still use the drawers?
@CandidClara17 күн бұрын
The drawers of the Ninja are made with a PTFE coating and the crisper plates are non-stick aluminium with a nano ceramic coating. If you have problems do contact t No ha, they should replace

Question: I want to get the rack for my Ninja, but it seems that it has metal feet, and that this would soon scratch the non-stick grill. I'm surprised they haven't put silicone nubs on the rack so as to prevent damage to the non-stick interior.
@CandidClara Жыл бұрын
I agree, I can only think that silicone feet would be impractical because they’d fill up with grease and be ward to clean. Just be careful!
@barryschwarz Жыл бұрын
@@CandidClara Thanks very much for the reply. My Ninja air fryer already has some kind of rubber nubs for the grille, which is easy enough to clean, so I wonder why they can't put the same material on the racks that Ninja offers from their own website. Cheers, Be well.

Of the UK model.... For me this is relevant information because as a military family we do frequent overseas moves and had just returned from 2 years in Canada, but I appreciate a little niche for most people

Hi Clara, can you please help me. I'm pretty new to airfryers. I had a rack off brand airfryer for 2 years and loved it, but I saw a lot more versatility in a basket airfryer. We are a family of 6 and I would love to know which airfryer you would recommend please. I'm open to both types. Thank you!
@CandidClaraАй бұрын
Apologies for the late reply, I ahve been thinking about an answer to this. Although manufacturers say 1 litre per person, I think you need closer to 2 litres per person, so you really wangt to consider something that has more like 10 litre + capacity if you are regularly cooking for six... I may do some more research and see what I can find in that range and then do a video to answer it...

What about Toast Clara?? I have an 8L Tefal airfryer that's only 4 months old and was looking to change to a double one. My friend recommended the Ninja, but not to buy an early one because the buttons wear away. So what's this like making toast? My Tefal kind of shrivels the bread and makes it really hard. It would be great if i could do away with my large 4 slicer toaster too. 🙂

Deano, I just cooked a piece of toast from frozen in the airfryer. 200c airfryer setting, took 6 minutes (mostly to get the colour) and it was perfectly acceptable toast, but took longer than a toaster!
