This is unfortunately also a situation in Serbia. On every corner you see at least one betting shop,if not more. They are advertising aggressively, ads for them are everywhere, radio, online,TV,billboards etc. Many football and basketball clubs add a betting shop name on their name as a sponsor, even sport leagues have betting shop names in their names. Just look at our streets during working hours - coffee places and bars are full, Croatia is probably the last EU country in which smoking is still allowed in bars, and casinos and sports betting pop out every 20-50 meters... This is a perfect material reflection of our mindset - the infamous 'eh, nothing will ever change anyway, so why even bother trying'. In the meanwhile, we lost 20% of our adult popultion, mostly skilled and educated people in their prime that went to Germany, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden and Canada... Since the bloody collapse of Yugosavia, societies of newly independent states have been drowning in corruption, economic crysis, moral decay and an overall sense of nothingness. I can imgine that things are even worse in Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia, as Croatia at least has huge ravenues from tourism and EU membership as a cushion to fall on.

But also logic, critical thinking and questioning the authority, just like every other religion. I'd rather be a gambler, at least there's some chance of winning. In religions you only win if you're a priest.

Sve ako preteraš je zavist i alkohol i droga i plastične operacije ! Iskreno i sam igram sportsku i to zato sto volim sport a onda i sportsko kladjenje! Imao sam trenutke da preteram ali sam uvek imao samolontrolu ! Iskreno ja ne vidim razliku izmedju kladjenja i npr brokera na wall str. Sve dok imaš kontrolu može da se koristi!
