Just want to mention that I really appreciate your reactions because you seem genuinely knowledgeable about geography, history, sociology, and related topics. I recently started watching Geography Now reaction videos after following Geography Now itself for a while and while there's something to be said for the entertainment value of seeing people with no knowledge whatsoever reacting in shock to stuff that I thought was common knowledge it's much more interesting to me to see knowledgeable people adding their thoughts and insights. I know Samoa probably isn't exactly in your wheelhouse of knowledge, but this is really more of a comment on your videos as a whole. By the way, I visited Bosnia in 2004 and absolutely loved it, hope I can make it back eventually.

@@DinaricWolf To add to this, one of the reasons we know they originated in Taiwan is that the Austronesian languages of the Taiwanese Aboriginal peoples are much more linguistically varied than anywhere else. Linguists say that there are somewhere between 9 and 14 sub-families within the wider Austronesian family, all but one of which is exclusively found in Taiwan. The Malayo-Polynesian subfamily includes all of the Austronesian languages outside of Taiwan, from Madagascar to Easter Island. This extreme diversity in the small area of Taiwan indicates that it's likely the origin of the family as a whole.
