Had a comp plus shifter tricked out by this man. Works perfect. I have a toploader in a 1990 mustang. still banging gears. Thanks Paul.

Even though I'm not going to rebuild a Hurst shifter, I kind of feel like I could with how well you explained every part of the process in your video.

Although being in Europe and I will probably never see a Munchie 4 speed, I do appreciate these videos for the techniques for diagnosis and repair. Soon I will rebuild my Toyota C60 transaxle and adding an LSD and these videos helped me to build confidence to do the job. So thanks a lot Paul!

👍👍 Love this channel, thanks man. I miss it when you don't post for awhile, but understand you have your "regular shit" to get done. I'm glad you don't post "fluff" and unboxing videos.

I have watched two of your Hurst shifter video's and I can really appreciate the time and care/knowledge you've invested to improve on a lackluster product. Having an "out of the box" Hurst, I can see why it hangs up all the time. You'd think the corporation would want a well made product for us to sing its praises but no, they simply don't care. Thanks for the eye opener!

Awesome video Paul . Good to se you still at it . I’ve never owned any fords but still find all your videos interesting. You built me a M22 Drag special that’s still running strong in my 1968 el Camino SS WITH A 540 big block . I’m 65 years young and still racing my hot rod . Thanks again . Not kidding I’ve busted axles and 2 drive line and that transmission just seems to be bulletproof. I bought you some coffees for an excellent build on my Muncie. Thanks

Your format as always is the standard imo of how a instructional video should be conducted. Worth noting, I do not own a Boss 302 Mustang. Did I watch the whole video? You bet I did! Looking forward to your next T5 video 👍

Nicely done! I’ve always wondered what they were trying to achieve when they made the 1-2 and 3-4 gates different lengths, like you say, stop bolts won’t work for both when this is done.
@GearBoxVideo Жыл бұрын
OEM shifters have that issue . Its because the gate arms are at different lengths but the shift arms are equal length. The aftermarket ones have different length arms to offset different length gate arms

Is that why factory Hurst shifters in general don't have stop bolts? Linkage differences? I installed a rebuilt factory Hurst shifter in my '69 AMC AMX (with your hardened steel bushings, no less) and while it has pilot holes for the stop bolts, that's it. No bolts. It does have that same backplate extension for the backup light switch, though.
@GearBoxVideo Жыл бұрын
stop bolts take more production time to set and cost more. So OEM shifters never had them. They work on some but not all types.
