Thanks especially for the tap tempo demo. My DD-3 has been great in the eight months I've had it, but one of my band's songs has a delay-based rhythm part and I can't fiddle with the "Time" knob onstage to keep up with our, uh, "sliding tempo." This ought to work for that, once I get the hang of using it

Beautiful playing here. Btw can anyone tell me: I wonder if this pedal is easily better than plugin delays. Do you think it’s worth the 150 bucks, or are plugin delays good enough really?

By Plugin I'm assuming you mean VST plugins. If so I'd go with plugins on a recording every single time. Monitor on your FX pedal record clean stems and use send effects for delay fx with your plugins. I would especially recommend Bluetubes pack. The plugins just give you a ton more flexibility in your recording. If you have a crazy trick low latency card and a very beefy computer and a fairly sparse track you could monitor with plugins going but even 4ms latency is noticeable in terms of immediacy and can make for a slightly wonky performance. Something else to consider though in practice not that important is you are essentially recording your guitar or at least the delays in whatever A/D setup the digital delay pedal uses. It used to be only 12-bit but with the DD-3T it's up 96khz at 32-bit. SO with an old DD-3 from the 90s your delays are 12-bit audio and obvious;ly recording those delays in 24-bit 96khz audio on your daw with result in a recording with 12-bit depth on the delays albeit faithfully recorded in 24-bit depth... I'd expect the main guitar signal to be the original analogue with the digital delay added via the mix control but I'm not sure of that.

@@ianedmonds9191 Alright thanks. I've never recorded using Reverb or Delay physical gear, and have only ever used plugins for that. All kinds of them. I was wondering if it might've been something like real amps vs software amp sims, where real amps are clearly much better.

Tap tempo should be eighteen note not quarter note. I will never understand why it is sets like that
