This was actually an old skit written by Lorne himself specifically for Chris Farley before his passing. Lorne actually noticed how similar some of Jonah's mannerisms were to Chris, so they threw this skit in last minute. This story is 100% true according to a couple sources

I imagine that kind of inner dialogue going on in most people's head. Maybe not quite as intense, but that's why people are so obsessed with fashion/social media - they're self-conscious and obsessed with presenting the best "PR" version of themselves.
