Hey Leon, firstly, you would be kickass in tv or on radio. You are a natural media host! Secondly, I ended up getting the gt because of your classy reviews and the fact the the sounds of the boss gt sound killer. After watching many different reviews before buying, the sounds just jumped out of any device I was using. Sold my axefx 2 for one. Keep up the good work!

I got one of these the day they shipped. Was never too impressed with the whole AIRED amp thing. What sold me was the 500 series fx and that it was the only multi fix that was 32-bit from input to output. I wish I had more time to play it/explore it’s possibilities..

@@IamtheFerryMan I bought it mainly to get effects out of it, now I use the OD's, fuzzes and comps in front of the loop, the looper when our 2nd guitarrero skips practice.... and not to mention MIDI switching... And the funny thing is I don't use 5% of what it can do...Set the global EQ flat as a mofo, then switch loop on off, to match the loudness to that of the amp straight...

I live the X-Comp, too. It seems to have the least amount of noise out of those provided in the GT-1000.

THANKS FOR YOUR REVIEW!!! The only thing I want from an EFX pedal is reverb, delay, and chorus. My ideal pedal would combine the RV-500 and the DD-500, and also have chorus as an option. Most multi-efx pedals fail me because: [1] they do not "tail" their reverbs and delays when switching patches, and [2] they don't have enough stereo delay options, such as the DD-500's "DUAL". Can anyone tell me whether the GT-1000 [1] "tails" both reverb and delay when switching patches and [2] contains ALL the delay options of the DD-500, most especially its stereo EFX? From your "delay" section here, it seems like all the DD-500 options are there! THANKS!

I want to love the GT1k. I love its features, but have had horrible issues with noise and degradation of signal using it in 4cm with my EVH Stealth. As soon as I engage the loops it gets a loud high pitched whine and terrible noise added to the signal. It isn't gound loop. It doesn't happen if I run direct from the core's output into the front of the am- only with the loops engaged. Built in noise gates don't help. Odd thing is if I add a mastering fx block (only works on the rock setting) then all that noise disappears. I gooogled the problem and I'm not the only one - the forums were filled with people with the same issue. I want to love it but if I can't figure out and fix the issue

On the Boss ME-80 the vol pedal could do a freeze effect that was really cool - where you could play a chord and freeze it then play scales over it. I wonder if there is a way you can do the same thing with the GT-1000.

Lots, but it's also nearly 4 times the price and I feel like not much compares to it anyway. I'm not a huge fan of the cab section of the GT but the effects and amps are excellent and I'd have no problem gigging it.

Great stuff as always. Love the BOSS products. However, for gigging it is the AX8... But could definitely use BOSS for a backup. My home go-to rig for learning songs or just jamming is the BOSS JS-10. Sounds good through a PA as well.

i think u have two output options, u can record directly out of the gt1000 and use another box for example as monitor. it works that way for live action when u go directly from the gt1000 into the PA and use the second output for a monitor, should work with recording too

Hello Leon, amazing work, kudos to you. question: I'm doing 4 cable with a small EVH 15 Watter, the GT1000 seems to color the sound of the amp. It's not dramatic, but noticeable. Any ideas, suggestions? Let me mention, I'm using FX only and have bypassed all the EQs. No cab sims.

Make sure to check the output settings, it should be set to ”Recording” if I remember correctly.

I recently cycled through Line 6’s HX Stomp and PodGo before exchanging for a Marshall DSL40 (my firsts tube amp), and calling it a day. I want to play a real amp above all else, and retain that feel of raw power and sound while I play. The L6 products did NOT sound good through my FX loop, or any other way. Now that I’ve got a great tube amp that I love-I had also tried a Katana in my journey for tone-I am still wishing to add some tonal variety, possibly alternative amps, and definitely effects into the mix. I liked the Katana’s effects, so it seems logical I may like the GT1000, and their AIRD tech sounds promising as it claims to work intuitively even when plugged into a real traditional amplifier. Is this going to be a let down a la L6? I’m either going to buy a Katana Artist MKII, the big ass foot switch, and run it alongside my dry Marshall with an ABY pedal, or get the GT1000 to augment my Marshall. Which sounds like it’ll be better? I’ve also thought this option is better because I could do the wet dry thing, and have a second amp that is far more versatile with its true modeling approach to add into the overall sound with my Marshall. I’m looking to hit many birds with one stone. Down the line, yes, I’d rather have the real amps, and the real pedals, but for the short-long-term I’ve got the means to either grab a Katana, which I did like, or a GT1000. I love delay, modulation like flanger/phaser, and want looping ability. Both appear to have these. Please help me! 😁 For the record I have mics like SM57 etc, and I do like to record, but as I’ve said the recording bit is secondary to in-the-room tone. I am a millennial, but I favor the traditional amplifier sound and feel. I can’t do headphones unless I’m strictly recording. I’m not inspired much while jamming through a studio headset. I don’t have any flat response speakers. Many many thanks if you actually read this, and thoughtfully considered my dilemma. Thank you.

I know I'm not Leon and your comment is old but you can most definitely do that with the GT. I have a Helix and I'm trading a guitar for a GT1000 tomorrow. I'm excited to test them head to head. I use my Helix in 4CM and swap preamps all the time. It's pretty awsome.

When I set my GT 1000 up like this, and I paused the video to set the settings identical for each fx, and the chain of effects are identical, the reverb and delay don't work, unless I move them before the send and return? the send/return are on, on the gt and the amp, the amp i'm using is a Splawn Quick Rod 100, every thing else works fine before the send/return any one else have this problem?
