Very clever use of the pedal! Just got one of these and am using it in 4 cable with my Marshall DSL 40. I’ve given up two switches for channel and FX toggle. Your pedal method is going to come in handy! It’s gonna take me forever to tweak my tones though.

I'm with you Bill I was skeptical but I'm very happy with the sound I get. I just made some tweaks to it and added an out board effect to it. It's a very versatile unit.

After reading the GT1000 manual a couple of times and watching the Helix Reviews, I cannot buy a GT1000. The UI is crazy hard compared to the Helix. After many Tube videos and reading the manual on the GT1000 a couple times I cannot figure how to do things that are second nature on the Helix. I don't understand what Boss was thinking? @@GROCMUSICCO
@GROCMUSICCO5 жыл бұрын
@@MrHitthespot I'm sure the Helix is great and maybe better then the GT-1000 and it was a toss up between that and the HeadRush. I really liked what the HeadRush offered but after using the Katana 100 watt head and cab I really started liking what Boss was doing. The Katana is probably the most consistent amp I've played live. Every amp I've ever played always needed tweaking to fit the environment not the Katana I would just raise or lower the volume. Eq stayed the same. Love it. I guess I'm not a Line 6 fan and owned many products and was mostly disappointed with a majority of them. I have a $1200 Variax hanging in my studio that couldn't model its way out of a wet paper bag. That being said I'm not trying to sell anyone on the Boss I like it but obviously you found short comings that don't suit you. I'm glad you found this video and if it helped you make a decision on what you really want I'm glad because these things aren't cheap and it would really suck to be stuck with something you hated. Good Luck and Rock On!

I hope I didn't sound like I under valued your Video. It was (is) greatly appreciated. Also The fact you take the time to answer comments as best you can. Thank you. I have a friend who is a bigger tube snob than me who bought the Katana Artist. He absolutely loves its. Never thought I would see the day. I'm really torn on what to do. I am presently using EVH amps and want to replace the rack mount set I have been using with it. GSP1101. Don't like the effects and my rack has grown to be too heavy. I really want to replace it with a floor unit. I will continue to listed and learn. I bought a AX8 and sent it back. I thought it sounded horrible. Thank you again for your video and replies.@@GROCMUSICCO

But how do you remember which buttons you've set to do what function for each block? On the Line 6 it lights up to tell you what each button does...
@GROCMUSICCO3 жыл бұрын
Before I made it more complicated it wasn't a problem. Delays, reverbs, chorus and pitch along the top everything behind the amp. Then phaser, flanger and wah in front of the amp on the bottom. Then I just made some vinyl lettering and labeled what I used most often.

There is an option to manually switch to the pedalmode, but i can not find the way. Do you know? My board was in pedalmode once and i could not get it back to normal. Had to reset.

Does it have the boss ns-2? I really like how that boss pedal works.

It has a noise suppressor but it doesn't say it's modeled after that particular pedal but I believe it has the same controls and maybe a little bit more. Hope that helps.

Do you go direct into PA? If yes do you also feed into an amp on stage for on stage levels only?
@GROCMUSICCO2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I usually go stereo into the PA front of house if I run sound from the stage or mono if someone else is handling it. Also, I use a powered floor wedge dedicated to the GT-1000 so I can ajust my own level. Don't count on sound guys to dial in your mix especially your instrument. Do it yourself.

@@GROCMUSICCO Thanks, when you say you adjust your own level rather than rely on sound guys are you talking about the level out front or on stage?

Yes it can. It will show up in your DAW as an audio interface. It provides a processed and non-processed signal.

I'm actually working on that video right now. I'll show all my parameters and the Celestion IR's I used. That's the key here. If you don't change them it won't sound the same. Here's the site www.celestionplus.com I'm using the Heritage G12H 55 Collection. 4x12 closed back.

Am I correct in assuming that your distortion is from the GT1000 and that you don't have a clean sound? Also are you running DI to a PA and coming through PA monitors for your stage volume ?
@GROCMUSICCO6 жыл бұрын
Yes distortion is from GT1000. I use a cleaner channel I don't like a super clean channel I adjust the volume on my guitar to clean it up. I run direct to my PA but I use a 2 channel floor monitor for my stage volume and vocal.

Hi groc! U sounded great. Thanks for the demo. Have u tried running the stompboxes in front of the amp without the preamp?
@GROCMUSICCO4 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming you mean running the gt1000 in the front of an amp and not using a preamp in my signal path and straight into an amp? No I haven't tried it because I don't use an amp with the gt1000. I use a powered monitor instead. Please clarify if I didn't answer your question properly.

Question: How to activate the looper?
@GROCMUSICCO5 жыл бұрын
I think the best way to see how the looper works is to use some of the existing patches that already have it together. To use it you have to assign some of the switches for the controls. Start-stop record etc. Starting on patch p50. There are a few set ups you can check out.
