Boss katanas are such good amps I have the original Katana 50 and then I have the katana 2 100 watt head just unbelievable how they sound solid state still will never compete with tube but they're getting closer

There is no way to know how this amplifier sounds if it is not recorded with a microphone in front of it.

@@davidalvarez5150 sure! I NEVER THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA 🙀😾😸... They used to try it without a speaker emulator... Needless to say 🙀🙀🙀!!!!

I bought one of these about 8 weeks ago after trialling it for a month. Not sure how you'd categorise this as "horrible tone". Desktop amps are never going to sound as good as the full size versions but, when compared to the Spark, the THR30WII and the NU-X, this is lightyears ahead. The cost is the issue.

@@RylanStorm I absolutely completely totally get the cost issue, believe me! But, I am tone obsessed, along with several friends! I have finally attained perfect replication of Brian Mays tone! I do of course only have two AC 30s! I'm about to get a new treble booster, That is a completely perfect replica, part for part, of the one he used all throughout his original queen years! For me, treble boosters are like snare drums to drummers 😸!!! But for me, the amp tone has to be REAL! I watched their demo video, and it-just - doesn't-sound-real! TOTAL SOLID STATE! As I said, I have two AC 30s, I used to have a hundred watt plexi stack... I do have a black star fly, which sounds incredibly convincing, and a lot cheaper than these! Katana's DO SOUND GOOD, But they're also INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT to achieve anything resembling what I consider to be a REAL AMP TONE!!! And, I've had a few! 😺😸... The harsh, square wave break up and distortion is characteristic of solid state! The only solid state amp, besides the black star, that I've heard achieve a good sound, is a VOX!!! You can't go by any clean tones, because even old fender amps have horribly thin and brittle clean tones! They make electric guitars sound like very loud banjos! The only amp I've ever heard with a good clean tone is the AC 30, and possibly the AC4...
