I don’t play very well but I have you as my only living role model. I’m mostly interested in playing the blues but I listen to a lot of rock. It’s all good. Dude, you make great videos. Awesome content. I’ve just got one piece of advice. I had hair as long as yours 4 years ago and my hair started thinning badddd. Just shave it off and keep the beard. It’s a week of looking at yourself in horror in the mirror, then you get used to it. You can maintain it with a Skullshaver or just a regular razor blade w/ shaving cream + aftershave. One of the best decisions I’ve made. Before shaving people used to guess my age was 2-3 years older than I was, now they guess 3-4 years younger. It also looks badass, just in a different way than the long hair.

Absolutely beautiful demo! I'm so glad to hear that Boss sent you that amp to keep. They need to send you a lot more for all the demos that you have done over the years. With all the people who comment and like what you do, I can say that I've been watching for a long time. I looked back and its been over 9 years. I found your channel when you were doing the Peter Green and Rory stuff, as well as the cr120 tones videos. Maybe even earlier, but that is definitely around the time. You are an amazing talent and person. I don't know exactly what is going on, but I can tell you are in pain. I know because I've been there myself, many , many times unfortunately. You know music can be a true healer, and of course that and time is what it takes. For all the people that you have touched here on youtube, you have a huge following of people that love what you do. Try and keep your head up, even though I know it may be difficult. Take care of yourself my friend.

I have a Gen 3 having previously owned and sold v1 & v2. It's defo a step up. They have revoiced it somehow. It has more push, more dynamics. I am well pleased it. That said you can probably dive into Tone Studio and with time and effort with v1 & v2 get similar results. But out the box Gen 3 is the first one that I don't have to fiddle with too much. I got three patches. Clean Edge, Crunch and Acoustic sorted in about 30 minutes. Whereas with v1 & 2 I was always fiddling about trying to fix the errant bad frequencies.

Love it all, sounds dominant and solid. Tone is balanced, just perfect. You must descend from the aristocracy of past Virtuoso musicians. Their incalculable wealth of talent has most certainly passed down the family timeline, maybe passed over some searching for the worthy and the talented, now embedded within your “fire spirit”. You are a force of tone, both sweet and soaring as we tag along far behind as you engage in adventures of wire and wood. - You contribute to the soundtracks of our lives, it’s a rather rare find for anyone to be acknowledged as uniquely qualified to bring us your muse . . .Remember you are Loved in the Universe of Fire & Ice.

I agree with you that it's a lot more intuitive to mess around directly with the knobs and that the setting up using software can get quite nerdy., However, some folks have made cool patches that make the process of hooking it on the software worthwhile..

After acquiring an HX Stomp XL, I went looking for a good FRFR powered speaker. I auditioned a few variants of the Katana and found them all to be boxy sounding. I ended up with a PowerCab 112 Plus and am very happy with it. The Boss Katana is a great all-in-one solution, especially for lead tones, but if you play much clean, there are better solutions. Now I am tempted to get a used Powercab 112 for stereo. At home I usually hook the Stomp XL to my stereo computer speakers, which are large audiophile speakers, a 12 inch subwoofer, and a Yamaha home theater amp, so I'd only use the powercab(s) for mobile applications.

Everytime I watch Dave demo a Katana of some sort. I remember I've yet to hear one of my mkii 212's through my new Harley Benton G212plus Creamback loaded cab. I know once I put one on top of the HB212, I'm gonna wanna start messing with different speaker wiring options. Make both cabs function together. With the MT15 sitting on top, it'll be plenty loud, one way or the other! Some fat strat tones going on bigtime!
