I’ve been playin on a Marshall solid state for over 15 years now and just got an ME-90 recently. This video has really helped me understand the differences between the preamps and how to use them. Thank you!

Thanks for the very cool video on the ME-90. I bought one in July 2023 when they came out, and I'm still working on dialing in sounds that I like. I have been playing guitar for 42 years, and your awesome rhythms you are playing on here are really inspiring my creativity in creating new rhythms. Again, thanks for this video and the detail of the sounds of the ME-90 that you have provided to us KZbinrs!!!

I appreciate that so much! That’s awesome you’ve been playing for that long! I just celebrated 32 years of playing, and I still feel like I’m always learning. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Have fun jamming with your ME-90! 👊🏻😎🍻

MDP stands for “multi dimensional processing” Also you have up to 36 user, and an additional 36 factory presets in the unit, that you can program and adjust the volume and the amp sim levels, to keep the volume equalized. So that you can switch amps and patches seamlessly during performances, without pissing off your soundman or your band mates. Personally I’ve found that the JC-120 sim is a perfect pedal platform. Also you can purchase BOSS’ Bluetooth module, and adjust all your parameters, as well as, access all of the other features, BOSS Tone studio, and record, via your mobile phone, tablet or PC.

Thanks for letting me know. I wasn’t sure what “MDP” stood for. Yeah, I try to keep all of my patches the same volume. I do boost my lead patches a bit though to cut for solos. I’ve used up most of the 36 user patches. I wish I could edit and save the 36 factory pre-sets. When I go to save a factory pre-set that I’ve tweaked, it wants to save it as a user patch (unless I’m doing something wrong). I’ve also been messing around with the ME-90 in manual mode (using it more as a bunch of stomp boxes). I have downloaded the Boss Tone Studio but haven’t had much time to mess around with it. I’d love to swap in the Jazz Chorus amp on a few of my patches for a super clean tone and pedal platform. The Bluetooth dongle would be pretty practical, too. Thanks so much for watching! Never stop jamming, and Happy New Year! 🍻

Great job on this review that's a lot of work! All your tones sound great. I've had the ME 90 for over a year and it eliminates the need for pretty much ALL my pedals. Although i probably wont sell any lol 😅

Hi! Thanks for the video! Haven’t you tried to use an external preamp pedal in line out mode? Is it actually possible? I just really want to use my external preamp pedal through send&return, using cabs’ IRs that I have loaded via IR loader. But here’s a strange thing: it’s possible to turn the preamp section on the unit off but IRs for cabs are off as well. Even the ones that aren’t connected to every preamp. What do you think? Is it possible to use an external preamp pedal and one of third party IRs loaded into the unit? I’m completely confused…
@OneRayMusic2 ай бұрын
I can totally understand your frustration. I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure you can only use the IR/Cab Sim when the Preamp section is on. A work around could be to use the Natural Preamp with a flat EQ. That should provide a blank canvas for you to use your external preamp pedal. What kind of preamp are you using?
@VikaArtemova18332 ай бұрын
@@OneRayMusic Thank you for the answer! I’ve been using a Preamp pedal AMT P2 (which can be used as a distortion pedal, too as it has a special output for these needs), so Something tells me that you’re right and using the pedal with the natural preamp of the unit is the only option…
@OneRayMusic2 ай бұрын
You’re welcome. Yeah, I do think the Natural Pre-Amp will give you the most flat response and a decent, blank canvass. Thanks again, and never stop jamming! 🍻

Bravo continu.

He said a good platform for pedals???? The reason we have the ME90 is to NOT have a bunch of pedals, lol
@OneRayMusic4 ай бұрын
🤣 That’s fair! Despite how many effects the ME-90 has, it doesn’t have everything. If someone has some favorite pedals they’d like to use, the preamps are a good platform. It also has a great effects loop. Thanks for watching!
@dgperforms14 ай бұрын
Man, if you need more, then you should be playing Stadiums!! Lol
@OneRayMusic4 ай бұрын
Maybe. One could argue the old “need” vs. “want.” 🤣 You really only need a guitar and an amp. Everything past that could be deemed just a want.
@xtravyx126 күн бұрын
The me 90 will do just about anything and do it well through an amp with 4cm, or into a speaker or pa. I’ve had line 6 stuff and others. Never liked using an iPad to adjust on the fly, you spend more time tweaking than playing . Just dial knobs and go. Daws and ir’s are lame. Play through an amp in the room.
@OneRayMusic25 күн бұрын
I totally agree. I really like the simple interface of the ME-90 just having old school knobs. I’m not one to go deep into software and drop menus either. The built-in IRs are great, but you right that nothing beats air moving through a speaker in the room. Thanks so much for watching, and I hope you have a nice holiday season! 🍻
