I have both, I could never get rid of my PH-2, it was my first modulation pedal, I always found a reason to use it live as a teenager, even in punk bands 😆

I notice a big volume drop when using this pedal. Why is that?

The phase cancellations effectively chop out various frequencies, resulting in lower volume. Some phasers compensate by having the option to boost the output.

I put a ge-7 after mine and use it boost the signal back up.

Dumb question alert.... I have the ph3 and a moog ep3 expression pedal, and I’ve felt like I set the pedal up according to the manual, to use the expression pedal for the speed on the ph3, but it’s not working at all. I’m using a TRS cable and just not having any luck. Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong lol

AFAIK, you need a TS, not a TRS for this.
