Yeah, SNK clearly does NOT like the idea of players beating their fighting games. Capcom generally has a way more balanced engine (except AI Seth and Shin Akuma), but SNK does have awesome sprite design.

RobCrowley85 I don’t know if you’ve played the KOF series, but in CVS they nerfed the fuck out of the SNK characters. Examples of this is Kyo. Also Haomaru, he was so fucking slow. But to be fair SNK for some reason screwed up the charge characters. I was always able to charge a Sonic Boom or Flash Kick by holding diagonally down back and I can’t do that in this game. And because of that I can’t do Guile, Chun Li or Vega’s super.

SNK is infamous for how hard their single player is. Especially their bosses. No Capcom fighter has really reached the heights of SNK's bosses. Every single King of Fighters ends with a boss that is an absolute nightmare (14 being the easiest, but only on normal difficulty. Verse is hell on max difficulty). Just having a ridiculous boss in a fighting game has even been dubbed "SNK Boss Syndrome". The bosses here in SvC are relatively tame by comparison. KOFXI's boss was basically a bullet hell fight, Rugal was designed to beat any kind of attack you can do, and even back in Fatal Fury, Geese was so ridiculous most unedited longplays of FF's single player consists mostly of attempts to beat him as he takes half your health with his normal projectile, and his counter attack works on just regular jumps. SNK bosses aren't just a hard thing at the end of Arcade mode. Beating them is designed to be worth bragging rights. There's no damn way Max could handle a KOF/SNK boss on maximum difficulty. If this was his reaction to SvC Chaos, the average KOF boss would eat him alive.

To fight Athena you must not lose any round and you must not kill any opponents with block damage. But, if you lose round you can lose match, use continue and start from the beginning of the battle, not from the beginning of the game. And whatever you do in boss battle against S.Mr. Karate / S. Akuma (and no matter how many time you lost to them) you will get to fight Athena anyway.

1. You should use exceed more, it deal incredible damage that able to turn the table sometimes, for akuma, exceed is raging demon. 2. Mid boss stg is depending on how much exceed KO before mid boss stg, can avoid goenitz by doing more exceed KO. 3. Boss Akuma doesn't use meter gauge for his super. 4. If you want to do a boss rage, try Athena or Red Armer, you will be totally pissed.

Aww man Max, if this was tough for you you might not want to try the really hard SNK fighters, this one is actually a little mild compared to the "old school" SNK fighters,lol. Games like KOF 95, AOF 2, ect are an absolute nightmare on level 8 difficulty.

Even as a child playing an SNK game for the first and last time, i learned that it actually reads your inputs to cheaply fight you, its bosses take priority over you in basically every aspect, and it wasn't worth playing. Anyway, really enjoyed this video, seeing you conquer this cheap game was very nice.
