@@THENAMEISQUICKMAN, the original SMB2 (not the "Doki Doki Panic" re-skinned version) wasn't released in America originally for two reasons, none of which had to do with bad level design: 1. Nintendo of Japan (to include Shigeru Miyamoto), at the time, believed Americans weren't smart enough, or capable of, beating the original version of SMB1. That's why SMB2 wasn't released in the U.S. until Super Mario All Stars came out for the SNES. 2. SMB1 was originally released for the FAM. (Famicom) before SMB1 was released here for home systems. As a compromise related to my first point, since there was some internal dissension related to this topic, "Vs. SMB" was released in arcades only, and marketed as a "harder version" of the home game, as a compromise to bringing the original SMB1 to the U.S. That's how the U.S. got the re-skinned version of Doki Doki Panic (known as "SMB2: Mario Madness" in the U.S.). I'd suggest Googling the origin of SMB1/SMB2 to read up more on this.

I'm glad you were able to have those memories. This reminds me of a time when I was 6 and my dad wanted to play MMPR with me on the snes but I told him no since it was a one player game wish I did though to have that moment because later as I was growing up it was a very rare occasion because he didn't really involve himself as much due to alcohol and drug addiction. He's still alive and sober now but I'm so sorry for your loss.

@Maximillian Dood: In lost level you can only bounce high on enemies that are not bullet bills and not blooper and not cheep cheep, if it did happen once that you bounce high on does enemies it is called the low momentom high bounce glitch, from the original non-lost levels version, the glitch become more rewarding in lost level because of the high jump mechanic and the high bounce mechanic as default mechanic, and for some reason they did not patch the glitch in the all-stars version of both does game.
