BOSS RC-505 loop in time with COUNT IN MODES!! BOSS RC-505 Rhythm Settings! | Tutorial

The on-board rhythm section on the BOSS RC-505 is a very useful feature! It provides you with a drum machine, that you can use either in your live performances or to have a jam with! Although the BOSS RC-505's drum pattern library and sounds aren't as vast as the BOSS RC-10R. It still has a lot of customisation within the menus, which is what we shall explore in this video!
Using the Count-In features found Inside the BOSS RC-505 Rhythm Settings, allows me to live loop to a click track! Which has really helped me bring more energy to my live looping shows!

Great video. How do you set up a drum pattern. to kick off variations or another pattern while setting up loops? Example may be having different drum patterns for Verse, Chorus, Bridge, etc. with drum roll transitions in between?

Can you set it up to Only count in 4 then rythem stop as start recording loop I just want a click intro via headphones but no metronome ONCE start recording.... ? Or metronome to headphones only? ? ? ? I'll keep looking but any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Afraid not :/ Can only set it to stop when the looper stops / when the recording stops / not at all But you can route the metronome sound to only go to your headphones as opposed to the line out audio so you an just turn it off manually when you're ready to

Great info thank you Ben, but the camera over the RC 505 is out of focus, making it hard to identify exactly what you are doing. The lighting is also a bit dark over the loop station. It would be great to have a current tutorial using the RC-505 mk 11

hi there :) how can I set up my RC505 to create instant loop, without the count/delay the loop automatically makes once the recording button is pressed...? like a good old loop: press and record on the exact count and stop it the same way... please and thank you so much

Hey Ben. Thanks for all of your help with these videos. I have a question. I am not able to get the drum track to play though when I use the FS-6 Footswitch with the BOSS RC 505. I have A Footswitch set up as record/stop and B Footswitch to STOP ALL. Whenever I hit A switch to start recording the drum track stops. Actually sometimes its taking the drum track volume down to zero as well. This is all brand new gear. Perhaps you know what I am missing here?

not sure if you're having this problem still but I ran into the same thing. You need to change switch 3 to off, by default this one is set ON and controls rhythm level. If you turn it off and just have switch 1 and 2 to what you want then you should be good

@@ringoze Well, you dont need to just have it randomly, for example 1. sample beat for 4 seconds... then you want 2. sample be longer - guitar solo, so you push Edit on the second button, i think u push edit more times, and change the set mode to Free mode, and then the loop sample can be long as you want. You just need to hit the time to be the same with the drums... so if the first was 4sec, the second one should be 8sec, 12 sec, 16 sec... Get me? If its simple beat, you can manage the second sample to be 6 sec, 10 sec... depends what beat or what loop you have on the first sample...

kostya lee some effects appear in brackets because they cannot be combined with certain other effects you have selected when you have multi engaged.

Hmmm... Lots of menus... Wouldn't just be easier to use Ableton with a Roland fc-100? That way you have little set up and no limitations on measures tracks etc. Plus you can use quality drum loops....
