Really appreciate your content...And even more impressive is the manner that you interact with people's comments that could be taken as negative. You answer each intelligently and with respect and in a way that is not offensive. That may not mean anything to anyone else, but it speaks volumes to me. Glad to subscribe to your content.

Aww thanks man! I like to think that every comment is trying to communicate something to me to sharpen my content to be better. The second we stop trying to be better, or think we know everything, is the second we stop caring about what we do! I appreciate the kind words! They are very welcome! You rock!

What exactly makes the BOSS VE-22 revolutionary if we compare it to, say, TC Helicon Voicelive Play, which came out on the market in 2014? I ask because I have both devices and I have to admit that I regret buying the BOSS VE-22 because the Tc Helicon still beats it in everything except the color screen.
@MainStageMusicTV7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment Marko! Our shop was also a TC dealer back when the Voicelive was released (Before Behringer decided to remove all retail outlets) I used the voicelive as well as the Harmony G and other processors in their line, and will admit that in the timeframe they were released (2009-15) they were an amazing piece of kit! now, here in 2024 The VE-22 adds many things that I appreciate. Yes, the color screen is nice, but also the soft silent switches versus the metal ones used on the TC are a welcome feature, additionally the ability to use a common power supply versus a specialized one or the ability to use batteries. From a performance standpoint, When I used the voicelive, I didnt feel the harmonies followed as accurately as the boss, especially from keys within the song, and also the ease of changing both the style of harmony and key is much simpler with the Boss interface. I could go on, but in short, if you regret buying the Boss, then find it a new home! Life is too short to use tools you dont feel are a 'fit' for your style. But, after one evening playing with this unit, I really was impressed with the overall quality of build, interface, and of course sound! Hope you subscribe to the channel! I appreciate conversation from real gear users like us!

Hi Great video - But can it be used with a SM7b ( the old one that needs the preamp)?
@MainStageMusicTV2 ай бұрын
All mics require a preamp, the SM-7b is a popular choice with podcasters, due to the spartan nature of many podcaster setups, the cloud lifter in line preamp was born. The VE-22 has a little sensitivity knob on the back that will boost the SM-7b mic plenty. give it a try and report back to us on how it sounds! Thanks for the great comment and for subscribing

The Boss VE-2 meets my minimal needs except to one thing. I want to be able to toggle back and forth between two presets, one for the verse, one for the chorus within a given song. I need to be able to easily, quickly do that without a lot of tap dancing. Is there a way to do that with this device?
@MainStageMusicTV4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing. The VE-22 here has an easy way of doing that...simply program two user presets next to each other and use the last two buttons to toggle between them. The VE-2 (which may have just been a typo on your end) doesnt really have presets like that,
@tommc494 ай бұрын
@@MainStageMusicTV You are correct. No presets. It has 4 memory locations but you have to scroll through them in order. Too much tab dancing.

Has anyone tried to program Autotune Like T-pain?.. there was a video on VE-20 doing that, I followed the method switching pitch correction (P41) to Electric but it is very subtle.. Any advice on this?

I just seem to notice something... I am trying to test all effects however the Default key is "C" , is there a way to change the default key to "G" as my background song / music is in the key of G.. Having to adjust the key everytime you switch preset is very annoying. Does anyone know how to do this?
@MainStageMusicTV6 ай бұрын
The key of C makes the most sense to be the default key, as it has no 'sharps' in the scale. This is a product not to dissimilar from a new phone....you have to program your contacts and favorites in it, but then they stay in there. I know its irritating, but until Roland develops brain scan tech that can interface with our hopes and dreams, we will have to save and create our own perfect presets manually.
@MrEagleeye586 ай бұрын
@@MainStageMusicTV Actually I would say that it is very simple for them to simply put in the setup menu that the Key when the user selects it stays fixed... no big deal.. as an option. Let the user choose the key leave it as per the user selects or the system defaults

It’s actually a so-called update for the VE-20‼️But it doesn’t do all that much for the price point…🤨it just brings the functionality up to date for todays use ie; USB , currents parts due to sucking up to china for that in the past ,.. for layout, foot switch control etc;…the Boss VE-8 & old VE-20 STILL hangs in there against this so not so much worth it IMO‼️🤨🤔
@MainStageMusicTV7 ай бұрын
I appreciate the comment! It definitely is an update to the VE-20, but I dont know if I can completely discount its upgrades. The price is lower than the VE-8, and the harmonies just in the presets Ive never heard as tightly done in previous models. Hey, as mentioned in the video, I LOVE my VE8, but this is a very hip piece of gear for someone other than just guitar players. Hey, if you ever get by our shop, I'd love to give you an 'In person' demo! Thanks for subscribing!

In today's perspective, its quite sad that your presets cannot be transferred to PC or Mac for saving.. This also stops the VE-22 from being able to share user presets across the internet.

Thank you so much for your comment and for subscribing to the channel! I will forward your great suggestion to the engineers at Roland, I think its a great idea.....and although it may fall on deaf ears, I like to think that a company as forward thinking as Roland would appreciate all constructive feedback! Thanks again!

@@MainStageMusicTV @MainStageMusicTV If you noticed, the BOSS STREET II has a separate bluetooth module even though it would have cost $2 to implement that internally... so I think they could make that happen in a VE-23 haha... I am sure the VE-22 will spur competition from TC-Helicon and Zoom to come out with something to counter the VE-22. The TC-Helicon Voiceplay live and voice touch already has internet sharing capabilities and even with the roland spd-sx you can connect and see the presets folder... and all you need to do is COPY no need for any complex Android or IOS software. Japanese manufacturers tend to be very timid on internet features based on the latest products they offer whilst American manufacturers tend to be heavy on digitalization.
@MainStageMusicTV6 ай бұрын
@@MrEagleeye58 additionally Roland is averse to get too deep into software.....they are adamant in their being a hardware company. The bluetooth adapter is an excellent example of this....they couldve put a transmitter in the unit, but instead they create an optional unit instead of building it in. But in fairness to them, relying on software does 'date' products....most Roland/Boss products made from forever ago work great without software, but other companies that designed around existing software havent aged well at all. Roland builds stuff for the long term. Hey, I really appreciate the great input!

The harmony effect is awfull. Fake, robotic, weird sounding.
@MainStageMusicTV5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! What I love so much about music gear, and the passionate people who make it, is how our uniquely tuned ears interpret sound differently. Many settings on this unit are, by design, 'robotic and weird sounding'. Heck, one of the settings is even called 'robot'! So to your point, the Folks at Boss have created something for all styles with this unit. Thanks again for the great insight.

They sound so robotic, all of them….so fake….🤦
@MainStageMusicTV4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! I think I understand what you mean.....This is a digital effect, so it is, in fact, fake....but another conversation to have is how 'perfection' is what humans perceive as 'fake'.....just like those AI images that are all being passed around. That being said, its still a great tool to use for musicians who need harmony but dont have the luxury of having other musicians to play/sing with.

@@MainStageMusicTVcan this plug into the boss rc-5 looper? Is it possible to over dub tracks on a loop pedal like the boss rc-5 when you want to record vocals with the ve-22 instead of guitar?
