Thank you Deb. I use the VE8 with a Marshall AS50D combo amp (one side for guitar, the other for vocals). It’s a small amp with a DI built in, so if there’s a PA system to plug into, you’re set to go - and you can use the Marshall as a monitor. All this stuff is great and I’m sure glad you were so generous in your instruction videos. They were a big help.

Hi Michael, I actually own the same amp and I've just purchased the VE8. Is it easy to connect the two together? Are there any extra cables I might need? Thanks.

@@brencarbery it does, and there are no extra cables required. Deb pretty much hits the mark in this video. As far as I'm concerned, she's the guru when it comes to all things VE8 and beyond. A side note. I sold my Marshall amp (a fantastic amp) and VE8 (a fantastic bit of kit) and got a Boss Acoustic Singer Pro mainly because I'm getting older and find it hard to organize boxes and cables on the ground. Benefit? All in one, with a couple of uncomplicated FS-6 pedals. Trade-off? No auto-tune). Hope this helps.

@@michaelkelly6583 thanks for the reply Michael. That certainly helps a lot. Looking forward to linking the two of them up when the VE8 arrives.

Deb just got the VE8 so your videos really help. Don't have a PA just an amp so still trying to figure out how to get everything hooked up on my setup.

Deb, that's an interesting demo of the Boss VE-8 with your Rumble 30. My understanding is that the more recent Rumble amps have only 1 input channel. In that case, I believe you would select output parameter 7 on the VE-8, guitar + vocal mono. This would also work on the Fender Champion amps on the clean channel. It would be interesting to hear an acoustic guitar plugged into the VE-8 with an electric guitar amp on the clean channel. This could reveal how the VE-8 can shape the tone of an acoustic guitar.

I will have to try that. Everything I’ve played through this bass amp sounds so much better than I would have thought.

Can you run this through with the rest of your pedal board? and what order should this be in the chain?

Dear Deb, thank you very much for your videos about the Boss VE-8. May I ask you if you also have some buzzing issues with the VE-8? It seems that my guitar-in has a problem. If I touch the casing with my food the buzz is gone... Maybe a problem with the grounding?

on the back of your VE8 there is a gain knob. make sure its high enough but not too high. Also check cables, make sure outlet is not sharing the same elec as other things in house that may cause this as well. if all else fails you can try one of these it works for me www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BRC120--boss-brc-120-ac-adapter

Hi Deb, Wondering if you can help me? I had a strange thing happen at band rehearsal tonight… I play my electric guitar into my VE-8 via my pedal board, then out via the 1/4 inch left output into my Boss Katana 100w amp. I run my mic via XLR in, then out through the right XLR output into the PA. Tonight at rehearsal, we hadn’t set the PA up yet and so I just the mic out cable hanging. Then I noticed while tuning up and talking, my voice was coming through the guitar amp. I’ve never noticed anything like this happening before! I ended up doing the rehearsal without using the VE-8 and went straight into the PA. Any ideas what May gave happened?

First thing I would check is to change the L/R positions of your VE8 outputs. Then I would check the output settings to make sure they hadn’t changed via page 5 on your ve-8 manual. Sounds like your outputs got switched either through connection or the ve-8 software.

Forgot to add, I haven’t used the VE8 with the band since - the other guys are picking up a bit more on BVs. 😎 However, I did a solo acoustic gig a few weeks back. No PA, just my Fender Acoustasonic 90 combo amp for mic and guitar. In my sound check, I didn’t like the sound of my Fender Telecaster (with Boss Acoustic Simulator before the VE8 and amp), so just played my Ovation acoustic/electric. At sound check it sounded OK but when the gig started, the first song sounded weird, so I disconnected the VE8 and went straight into the amp, so I had no vocal harmonies. I can’t really turn effects on either channel of the Acoustasonic off as such but I can turn the effects level right down. Should I have also turned the bass, mid and treble settings of both channels right down to zero or have them on 12 o’clock? 🤷‍♂️

Hello, can the “acoustic enhance” features on the VE-8 be deactivated? I’ve been using TC Helicon products for a couple of years (Voicelive 3, Play Acoustic, VG Perform, etc) and one thing I like is that the “bodyrez” can be turned off just in case I’m using an electric guitar. Sometimes I do acoustic gigs and sometimes I do band gigs where I take my electric. I’m looking for one pedal that can do both. I’m afraid of getting the VE-8 and ending up killing my electric guitar tone with it. Can’t seem to find any info on this over the net. Thanks!

You can disable effects on vocal and guitar. on the Boss VE8 and use external effects. FYI, I love my VE8 with my Fender Telecaster. Play with it and see how it goes for you. This is a wonderful addition to anyone’s arsenal and I just plain enjoy playing with it.
