I’ve owned a pair of these for 3 years now and I still love them. I love them because it gives me a great experience. It’s helped me come to a higher level of playing because it sounds so good to me. So this has actually kept me inspired & motivated. Everything is wireless & You can get straight into it. I can play to backing tracks I’ve made myself or play along with Spotify. There’s plenty of play/practicing hours on it for me. Battery life is still good. They’re built to do one thing only and it does it awesomely. The way I look at it is that for the money I spent it’s worth it for these reasons. Cheers Jonathan cheers folks 🤙😎

I completely agree, the lack of output for recording (I would prefer USB) is what stops me from getting these. I travel, and these would be ideal if I could record idea's while sitting in a hotel room.

I tend to use mine primarily in surround mode rather than the gyro mode. Just my preference. Great practice tool. As well as travel tool.

I have had them for almost 3 years and I think it is such a cool new tool for guitar practice at home. It is such a unique product with so many options that I believe it is really an untapped treasure. We need more forums and collections of people's unique set ups because it is very limitless.

I like my waza air for simple practice. Using always the same crunch preset. Very cool. So simple. The app is not ergonomic, you can spend hours to tweak the settings and still be disappointed by the tone. The great thing is that you can practice silently without hearing the dry strings ringing. Awesome.

These headphones were a game changer for me. I used to rarely practice because the high gain I love drove my wife insane. Now I practice daily and zero issues. I never use my amp anymore.

I'm curious how these compare to the Katana? I have the Wazas and love them so much it made me almost want to get a Kantana for a grab and go amp (though I have Fender Champion 50xl that fills that quick jam amp role).
@paulburton5150
@paulburton5150 2 жыл бұрын
@@RogerThat902 well, the katana is a great practice amp. No doubt. Personally I found the waza airs had a much fuller richer sound. Probably the effect of the headphones and the surround mode. I may have kept the katana but I got a deal on an EVH LBX-S and cab. If I was choosing today I might try out one of the new blackstars...but then you miss out on all the built in effects of the katana (fortunately I have a hx stomp and a bunch of pedals).

@@paulburton5150 Thanks for your answer. One of the things that strikes me about the Waza's is how full it sounds. I think it might be because we can "crank" the sound in the headphones. If the Katana isn't quite as full sounding I don't think I need it because that's what I love about the Waza's. Thanks again.

The stereo stuff is very important to me. A full on mono sound simply does nothing for me musically. I don't mind a mono source but I need reverbs/delays/chorus to go stereo a fair amount. From what I seem to gather from this video, the waza at least does this, yes? See the thing is that here with tax it's 630 CAD and policy is there are no returns on headphones for hygienic reasons.

Have you tried the Waza air plugged into a pedalboard or HX stomp with a separate wireless system for guitar? Thinking you could get HX stomp sounds with the full wireless

Thinking of getting a pair as I am in between amps and was gonna upgrade to Pod Go. I already have decent headphones, but I'm a bedroom player with young kids so exclusively play through headphones. Wondering would there be a huge difference in the headphone experience with these Vs Pod Go and current audiotechnica headphones. Any thoughts?

2 years with these. Havent changed the presets I made on day 1. If you are a fiddler this isn’t for you. 99% of my playing over the last 2 years has been on WA’s.

You know how much I love those things? Well obviously. For its obvious faults, it’s biggest plus for me is that immediacy, I use it for all sorts of jobs daily, working on pedalboards , signal chains, that’s my plug in and go for checking cabling, testing single pedals, augmenting stomp’s DSP. You’ve nailed every ask, though I’d really love to see a mkii version with a totally revamped editor the likes of the actual Katana. For recording I actually view this more as a re-amping tool. if you consider how you run a stomps DSP with a looper midstream rather than pre or post, attaching the WAZA amp and delays at the end allows you to quickly prove out track layers in that floating mono cab, and then you can fix them panned in the mix and move onto the next layer.

I would be keen to try these. Cost prohibitive. My idea. I haven't done it yet. Take an amp with a headphone out. Get a boss wireless instrument system. And a set of Sony wireless headphones. Both work on radio frequency with very low ms latency. The headphones can be used for any listening. The amp has the limits of the amp. But I always find the majority of the boss modelling FX to be fun for a minute, but long term unusable. I'd prefer one quality clean and one quality high gain for practice. If I do it, I'll let you all know how it works.

I almost bought a pair, until I saw the battery life… need to be able to double as regular headphones to justify the price, and 5 hrs of battery just isn’t there.
@RogerThat902
@RogerThat902 2 жыл бұрын
In my experience, I think it's longer, but honestly, it's not a huge issue because very rarely are you going to sit and just play these for basically a full day with no chance to recharge. I do think that's something I'd want to see improved, but it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. I pretty much use these for a couple hours a day (probably slightly less) and I'm recharging roughly once a week. I thought it would be much more annoying than it is. Recharge every few days when you finish playing.
@WTF-Cubing

@@RogerThat902 Yeah, it’s plenty fine for playing guitar. I mean as a typical pair of Bluetooth headphones, the battery life is sub par. I have a job where I can wear headphones at work, and 5 hours is half a shift. The minimalist in me doesn’t wanna justify having a separate set of headphones for guitar and for listening to music.
@RogerThat902
@RogerThat902 2 жыл бұрын
@@WTF-Cubing Sorry, I misread your initial comment. Yep, that's actually what keeps me from using the headphones more with non guitar. I have some nicer headphones and I'm usually at a desk so wired doesn't bother me, but you are right...it's short for anything else. In fact, I don't even bother trying with other tasks. In all honesty, I would pay new price for them, but if you can find a pair used they are killer just as a amp. You'll probably play more guitar and that for me makes it worth it...but you may be smart to hold out for an improvement. They have to be working on a version 2 I'd think (and hope!).

I had a pair and loved them, except one thing that I couldn’t get over. I really did not like the app on my iPhone and iPad. I really need them to be able to Bluetooth to a computer. That and no record out, I sold them and got a cheap multi effects unit and a good pair of studio headphones and had way more flexibility that I needed.

I love mine. No unit is perfect, but the sign of great gear (for me) is despite the obvious shortcomings I still love the unit. The app is garbage, the dynamic simulator drifts in an unnatural way, can't record, and is not made for use w/ a pedalboard (shuts off if not moved)...but they are so convenient. I love my amp and actually can play it pretty loud but it's still draining to do so. You can put these on and crank them up and it somehow feels more satisfying when practicing. This is also silly, but I guess I never appreciated how much more freely I'd practice when I know nobody can hear how bad I sound when learning something new. I've always had that "I really hope nobody can hear me learning this" and the Boss cuts that out completely. I love them. I would love to see you do some videos of dialing in different sounds that you like (I know can be hard to replicate for us on youtube). My head spins a little bit trying to figure out some of the settings--a few of them I have no idea what to with hah.

I have the katana air amp. I use it more than all my other amps combined. It has a headphone out. The acoustic setting sounds fantastic with the acoustic models on my variax, and all the other settings sound great on the electric models,especially the crunch. It takes a while to get my sound dialed in with my pedalboard and other amps, the katana is INSTANT!!!

I love the concept, and as someone who predominantly is travelling (digital nomad) I am limited in what I can take, right now I use the DT990's and Fender Mustang Micro headphone amp, the reason I didn't go for the Waza air is that I prefer open back headsphones. You know, so I can hear someone coming at me with a hammer or whatever.

I think they are durably built. I wouldn't pay a new price for them (they are expensive) but if you can get them for a good used price they are great for what they are. It's a luxury item for sure and there are some real flaws, but they are my most used amp these days. IMO if you have amp(s) that you can play out live, you could get by with that and the Wazas. Before I had a bunch of different modelers that all kind of did something well but struggled with one thing or another. Wazas pretty much fill in the gaps for home playing for me. The biggest thing for me is probably that I'm not a fan of the app. I really like how the Positive Grid Spark's app works and makes it really easy/intuitive to add on effects because they look like real pedals/amps. The Boss (I believe the Katana is the same thing) feels much more like you are working with a modeler rather than real gear and that makes it less enjoyable for me to fiddle with settings personally.
