There was a very good reason for their unique sound...they were electrical engineers from MIT. They knew a thing or two about sound filters, compressors, and amps. But there's nothing you can do to mimic the play and the vocals. These guys were tight and had like 6 epic cuts that were dominant across the airwaves. Like the 1st 5 on this recording.

It was a wonderful time to be alive AND there's nothing like those great songs that bring back 🔙 some beautiful memories for those of us who lived in the moments of the 1970's!!! And like another great songwriter of our generation once said: "Today's music ain't got the same soul....," which is so true! I just can't listen to the garbage 🗑️ I hear playing in this day and age! I graduated high school in the mid-70’s in Lafayette, LA. We had a group of 5 friends who would get together and party on weekends at what was known as the strip. We obtained a bootleg copy of Boston’s 2nd album before it was ever released commercially. One of my buddies had an awesome stereo system in his Jeep. We cranked it up and people started filtering out of the bars and were asking “Which band is that?” We told them it was Boston’s 2nd album and the next thing we knew we had a large crowd of people in the street all jamming. It was an amazing experience, people were just blown away by Boston’s music, the band had a unique and revolutionary sound. When people talk about the “good ol days”, that’s the kind of stuff I think about.

Just imagine being a child of merely 8 years old, its the late '70s or early '80s for you and one fine morning you wake up, wonder into the loving room half asleep, as your eyes come to you see the huge album cover leaning next to a record player. The cover has these amazing space ships and planets on it. You open the cover as if a book and it shows these guys who apear bigger to you than life itself and there is a buzz about them everywhere. So you play the record and it is this album, Boston that you hear for the very first time. Now rock is certainly nothing new to you at this point, and youve already been submerged into Led Zeppelins greatest and early Van Halen has been ruling your eyes all this time, but the sound of this album simply has you awestruck and blows your mind! Anyway, whats Im trying to say is that we had some damn good music dint we ladies and gents? Oh yeah!

I am 58 too. When my daughter was in highschool, the music those 4 years of hers was dry and remakes. So I introduced her to limecwire and had her start with Boston. She cruises it from the 60s to her present day, made a soundtrack of my music for her 4 years of highschool and her entire class.. ( they passed around white snake " here i go again on my own" for everyone's road test for drivers Ed, then it went through my two other daughters each 5 years apart. My kids got 50 years of the best music ever released, and still search for gems of my day. For the "theme music " of their lives.. as are all three classes of kids, and now.. THIER kids...

This is true for other artists and bands and happens to everyone as you get older, but just knowing that doesn't salve the pain. Linda Ronstadt wasn’t inducted until 2014, and she was one of a few artists who created country rock. She also got the Eagles together (she’d picked them for her touring band) and was one of the first performers to sell out stadiums. The Eagles got inducted waaaay before her, in 1998, even though she was one of the first performers to fill stadiums wherever she went. Glen Frey regularly shamed the RRHF in the press for refusing to induct her.

The first album was the biggest selling debut album for a band until Hootie and the Blowfish with cracked rear view....that's one long standing record. Back in the day when one would be out shopping where they sold music up front, like Kmart, Gold Circle, Uncle Bills etc, you would see this album cover and it was there for years because it was on the charts for a few with a few number one hits. One of the best albums of all time. I was 13 as well when they broke in Cleveland, and have seen them two times in San Diego. Their music will never go away....its too good for that.

Being born in 1960, I got to be influenced by so many different genres of music! I was just 15 when "More Than A Feeling" hit the airwaves on WRIF and W4 FM radio here in Detroit! The 1970's were my teenage years and I always 💕 loved 😍 the 🎵🎶🎵 music! But for people like me, Rock and Roll, which was born from The Blues, isn't the only genre I listen to! But I still have Boston's first three albums! Great songs!! 😃😃😃👍👍👍

The 70's were WONDERFUL years: we "yesterday's kids" were lucky enough to have had the most beautiful "MUSIC SOUNDTRACK" of all time as the background of our adventures: years full of groups playing good music and SONGS that despite the passage of time WILL NEVER GO OUT OF FASHION.
