Jayson Tatum is such a Front Running Stat Padder. The only reason he even scored 23 points was because he made meaningless 4th quarter shots with the game already being over. JT wasn’t anywhere to be found in the 1st half. It was Jaylen Brown who dominated this game from start to finish.

@maartenvz Stats are quite tricky. Look at today's game. Jayson Tatum scored a ton of points when the game was done and dusted. If you just look at the stats, you'd believe he had a wonderful game, right? But everyone who watched the game would agree he was relatively ineffective.
@alekseyokn7 ай бұрын
But Tatum gets Double and Triple coverage so other players are free, that's the problem
@siyabongakunene50527 ай бұрын
@flipo_oku I seriously don't see that. When he attacks the paint, the defense collapses and makes the right play. That's basketball. The problem is that over the years, in the playoffs, he shrinks. Kinda like what Ant is doing now. He stops attacking and becomes timid, committing costly turnovers. That's the criticism against him as the Celtics best player. Sometimes JB props him up, and it glazes over these inconsistencies. I said JB is the Celtics' most important player because even though he doesn't have Tatum's clear physical advantages and ceiling talent-wise, he performs consistently in the playoffs. He also rarely shrinks. He attacks incessantly. And when he has a bad game in the playoffs, almost always Boston loses that game.

The Boston Celtics are a superteam this year in the 2023-24 season: The Celtics has Jason Tatum, who averages 26.9 points per game, 8.1 rebounds per game, and 4.9 assists per game. They have Jaylen Brown, who averages 23.0 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game, and 1.2 steals per game. They also have Kripstaps Porzingis, who averages 20.1 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per game, and 2.0 blocks per game. They also have Jrue Holiday, who averages 12.5 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, and 4.8 assists per game. They also have Derrick White, who averages 15.2 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, and 5.2 assists per game. Many people might disagree and not be prepared for this conversation, but whether you like it or not, it's the truth.
@Smido837 ай бұрын
They are not a superteam. They just had the easiest path to the finals in decades. Granted, the great reg season gave the team that path. But whoever comes out of the West will be the first real test the Celtics will face, while the west team will be completely battletested. Remember the 2022 Suns? Went to the finals in 2021 (also against baged up teams), then 64 wins in 2022, and as soon as they face a true superstar, they get beaten. Why? Cause Booker is a Star, not a Superstar. So he lost to Giannis and Luka. Neither Tatum or Brown are true Superstars either. They are All NBA level talents... there is a difference. If a true Superstar has a good team around them, they beat a team like the Celtics. So you should hope the Wolves win, cause Ant isnt that Superstar either. He is more on the Tatum/Brown Level. If Luka and the Mavs come out of the West? Good luck! Luka and Kyrie will not loose against this Celtics team if somewhat healthy...

We have to have a serious conversation I think this is jaylen browns team and not Tatum the way media presents it. Tatum only puts up numbers once the game is basically over
@Bigbrotherbeni17 ай бұрын
Let’s all be honest this is Jaylen browns team he’s the DOG he has that mentality, he’s overall more consistent, and doesn’t need 100 set plays a game to get his he does the dirty work and you don’t hear his name in the news all day everyday. he’s a quiet killer, JT shrinks as competition increases and he needs to be baby walked into a 30pt game, doesn’t have great athleticism and has no sense of defining moments…..But it’s Boston in from a marketing standpoint for that city we know why JB doesn’t get pushed like Tatum.

The addition of Jrue Holiday made Boston a Legit contender, I don't see anyone else left with the depth they have to contend for 4 quarters in a 7 game series.

White is the best 5th option in the league by a wide margin, Celtics are just too deep, basically a superteam by modern standards. Pritchard is one of the most underrated back-up PG in the league, whenever i see him play he contributes, making great plays, hitting tough jumpers and floaters. Jrue was their missing piece, they needed a dog and they got one.

as a neutral fan i think that decision not to foul on the last play of game 1 and allowing brown to nail a 3 cost the pacers the series. it awakened a new confidence in brown and the pacers HAD to steal that game to have any chance to win this series...

Since the start it was obvious that the real challenge for this Celtics was gonna be the team who reaches the finals from the western conference. I truly think that 3 or 4 teams from the western would be able to compete against this Celtics but eastern teams are absolute trash compared to them

even tho Tatum had a pretty rought shooting night. He kept attacking and making the right plays. His pasing game has improved alot. Exceptional player. Brown looked locked in. This is a guy that just wants to win. Love them! Pacers look very tired. Still I am very impressed by Pascal Siakam. I really think this Pacers team is going to be trouble in the east for the forseeable future.

JT is a good player, no doubt. Exceptional? Nope.
@monsterdragondeluxe7 ай бұрын
@@SirJoCocchi so, you tell me JT is not exceptional while he is multiple 1 team all NBA, the only American I might add, top 10 MVP voting for the last 3 years. Every single time in the play offs, always available, good teamplayer..ok. So in your world you are not exceptional if experts, yes them experts stop pretending we know better, we dont, tell the whole world you are exceptional. You are very sour and delusional...I kinda feel sorry for you.
