Pearl tenors are always the best sounding drums, year after year. And thanks for cranking the spocks right up to sweetness!

@@mattlogan1 They sound good, other than I don't like the way Rennick tunes them... he seems to tune every single tenor set the same across any corps he works with. These sound just like any other SCV line in the last 20 years, and he tunes the spock like an 8" drum. Not a fan.

@@benjaminkenobi21 I'll let you in on a secret - Paul never touches the quads. 90% of the time it's one of the members and occasionally it's a quad tech.
@benjaminkenobi2111 ай бұрын
@@mattlogan1 In light of that, how is it possible that all of Rennick's lines' tenor drums sound the same? And when I say the same, I mean EXACTLY the same. Even across different drum brands like Pearl and Dynasty. Unless the techs are following him around.... but you said it's almost always one of the members doing tuning. Explain?

@@benjaminkenobi21 There is a LOT of consistency of members & quad techs across the years, and not a lot of outside influence. It's like a cult :)

If quad lines mattered at all for percussion scores, boston would be winning :)

What makes you say this, specifically? I mean the part about them not mattering (the Boston part is obvious.)

@@benjaminkenobi21 I don't want to call out any groups specifically, just a lot of time marching & watching DCI! Quads & basses are at the bottom of the totem pole of percussion scoring (overall corps placement / music / GE, arranging, snare line & pit are most important)

@@mattlogan1 That could explain why BD has won drums recently when there seemed to be better batteries competing against them.

@@benjaminkenobi21has to be some truth to that. Because I got to see BD’s show in person and I was disgusted at the fact they scored higher than crusaders in percussion😂there’s no way
