You're a beast on both, but you look more comfortable on snare. Hope you make the line!

Heyo! You did a great job! I have a few tiny comments that could help with the tenor section of your audition in the future. Just lmk if you're insterested and i'll just reply with em. But you did a great job! Dont let getting cut bog you down, this is just the beginning! Keep choppin!

JSU Marching Southerners 2016 Quadline dude here: One suggestion - and it's taught by Mike McIntosh - make sure that when doing something such as the PDDs exercise and the two-height rolls that you _EQ the left._ Commonly, the left hand is going to play lower than the right hand, especially at higher BPM. Try to get it a bit higher up and EQ it to the right. Smooth and consistent from both hands is the goal in any audition process. Also, make sure to get a proper wrist turn instead of going towards forearm presses on those fast rolls, and try to get relaxed motion as much as possible. Let the heads do the work for you. If you want some workout, try to play the exercises at a reduced tempo on something with little rebound, like a pillow, then move to the drum. You'll notice a considerable difference in the ease of feeling how the rebound helps. X-axis comes _after_ Y-axis. Getting the EQ and the muscle memory makes the Y-Axis a second-nature type of thing. There's a few spots in the Rudiment sheet that just need some reps with the 'motion' in mind. Keep proper contact with the pinky and use the forearm and wrist primarily, rather than finger. The latter is much, much harder to get consistent than the first two. Stay loose, and control the drums under the hands on the y-axis (verticals) to make the movement around the drums on the (x-axis) a hinge for the vertical motion to move around the heads. Same advice applies to snare, but the only thing I'd mention is making sure of where the elbow is on the left trad grip. Keeping it on a proper plane and from moving too much will keep the beads centered on the head in the proper zone to use the rebound. Good luck, friend. I wish you well in the audition process. Also... I can tell that your primary is the snare, but being able to play both with relative ease is quite impressive. Props for that. That's why most of the information and perspective I've ramrodded into this comment is for quads. Don't let one focus get in the way of another, and be confident in both.

My primary instrument actually isn't snare. I was hoping for the tenor spot and well if i learned that one well I also learn the snare part so I thought might as well. As a tenor player I can say snare is way easier than tenors, which is why I enjoy tenors more. Thank you so much for the feedback, I will take this into consideration for next year.

Spirit of Atlanta had a very similar roll exercise in their packet. Only difference was a measure or two at the end
