In this 8mm footage captured by the late Henry W. Marrec, we visit the Boston & Maine Railroad's Boston Engine Terminal (BET) and surrounding areas in April 1969 and June 1973.

Again, I'm so thankful and appreciative of all the incredible content from the B&MRRHS. Great stuff! It looks like Mr. Marrec shot some of this footage off of 93, that took guts! :)

Imagine trying take photos or videos along the side of I-93 in Somerville now. The lack of vehicle traffic in some of these shots from the early 1970s is amazing.

That first Budd RDC on the turntable is 6211, if my eyes aren't failing me. It's a esthetically restored and on static display in Bedford, MA.

Really enjoyed this classic footage of the B&M, along with the accompanying music. Regarding the EL power, did the B&M have a power pooling agreement with EL?
@bmrrhs9 күн бұрын
Erie-Lackawanna run-through power often appeared on trains PB-99 and PB-100, which were piggyback trains to and from Boston.

@bmrrhs I hope those EL SD45s weren't too hard on B&M's tracks. Thanks for the explanation.

Ain't that nice ! They used to put them to bed at night in their own little shed so they didn't feel cold !
