Thank you endlessly to Matt Fox of ‪@sweatelite‬ for pacing me this day and rocking the GoPro all race. I didn’t deserve that, but he wanted to offer his multitude of skills, and I’m so grateful. Please go check out his incredible youtube channel!! ‪@sweatelite‬

these race films are insane, it's almost like you should make a full-length documentary or something

I will never be a professional athlete that plays in a super bowl or game 7 of the NBA finals, but the atmosphere from marathoning is a sensation like no other and videos like this make me wanna push even harder to have the opportunity to race Boston with the best of the best

Not afraid to say it but this video made me cry. Watched it with my 4 year old son and he asked "are we going to do that one day?" We have our first "race" this weekend in a mile fun run for him and im doing a 5k prior to that. Amazing video as always

I was cheering for you so hard near mile 24! You ran a stellar race on a brutal day and I appreciate you bringing us all along for the ride-all of it.

I qualified for and ran Boston twice in my early 20s. I haven't stopped running, but the time commitment to train like I'd need to to really race a marathon hasn't been possible while I've been focused on raising my kids. They are teenagers now and it's time to make another BQ attempt this fall...25 years after I first did it in 1999. Congrats and thanks for the motivation!

I would say that the weather was pretty much perfect for marathoning. On top of that there was a tailwind most of the course. You can always frame it to fit the narrative, but better just to won it with no excuses and be happy with what you had in you on that day.

dude. inspiring every time. My old bones at 36 want to get closer and closer to that 3 hour mark. I'm convinced that if I watch enough of your videos, I'll end up doing it...

What a journey! I ran Boston last year. Crossing that finish line was a peak life event. This video was nostalgic and made me tear up. You worked so hard and deserve to celebrate this, Eric.

Just over here crying when watching someone I've never met cross the finishine. Absolutely incredible. I'm saving this for motivation on mornings that I don't feel like going on a run. Can't wait to keep watching you!

You should know something, Eric. The marathon is a very selfish and lonely sport: you run alone, racing the clock/your set goal, hours of being inside your head with nothing to do but listen to your thoughts, battling yourself, the inner struggle of mind over matter. BUT you INSPIRE so many other people, the people around you, your followers who you’ve never met, you show people that it’s a fight and the struggle is not unique to them. Sometimes we don’t achieve a set goal and that could be considered a “failure,” but some, like yourself, show that it’s nothing more than a learning experience and something to build on for next time. Keep going man. And thank you for inspiring me to reach for higher goals.
