That years edition of the Bruins was an interesting mix of veterans and great young players. You're right, that team and series is somewhat forgotten now. They certainly solved Sauve where the Habs had come up empty. I actually thought the Bruins would take the cup that year, but Isles never had a problem scoring on Pete Peeters.

Like it was yesterday…I was writing my senior high school thesis at Buffalo State Library with Rick Jeaneret playing in my cubicle. When Park scored that OT goal, I shouted the f word several times, disturbing the peace and quiet of the library. No idea what my thesis topic was, but the pain of that Park goal lingers 40+ years later.

Buffalo had more Americans and Europeans than the Bruins...Before Vancouver arrived they were unofficially Canada's third team because of Orr and Espo - then Summit 72 and 74 alums
