Only because the wealthy have created a media environment where they have made us feel powerless against a government we cannot control, so that they can control our voting habits so we consistently maintain a government that benefits them and not us. It's a nice little feedback loop that keeps them in control and us paying for everything. The truth of course is we are self governed, we can change everything to our liking by simply ignoring the modern media mogul class and elect a government that follows our lead. When they stray, vote them out. Prior to the 1980's it was well understood the middle class was the master of this country. Voters didn't care about labels. I personally never even knew what democrats and republicans were until the internet came along and I looked them up. But the 1980's was when the right/left propaganda paradigm started, and amplified a million times over in the 90's when Fox News was born. Now a news channel doesn't even exist that reports news. They are all political right/left propaganda channels that keep us at each others throats, and them in control of us and through our votes, they control everything.

Just to be clear. The United States has some of the lowest taxes in the world in terms of personal income tax and goods and services (sales taxes). We currently rank at 32nd out of the 38 OECD countries. That means 31 OCED countries pay more taxes than we do.

You do realize that the Patriots won only because they received significant help, militarily and financially from countries such as France, Spain and the Netherlands. We would not have won without their help. If you are also referring to our current aid to Ukraine, do recall that we agreed to have their back if Russia attacked them back when the Soviet Union broke up and Ukraine became their own country. In return they let us disarm all their nuclear bombs that they held from the old Soviet Union, about one third of the Soviet nuclear arsenal. We were afraid those bombs and nuclear material would be bought or stolen by terrorists and we didn’t want one or more to be set off here. How quickly we forget.

I take it you don’t know much about the DAR. They’re very organized and the chapters communicate with each other. I bet there was ever a special pin you could get to pin on your sash if you attended this event. I’m sure the Boston chapters have a list of every DAR member across the county who was planning to visit Boston for this event. Chapters with members who attended will be submitting that in their reports to their state officers. It’s a big deal.
