I have a 160SS and love the boat so much. Sold my 130SS and wish I had it still. Always the Boston Whaler for me. Solid and the best resale around.

Here we have a 16 foot whaler battling haul over, they have their boat on plane, bow up but this is not the best boat to be battling haul over while haul over is firing on all cylinders today! We can see as the waves are pounding on the haul, and looks like our guy went airborne! Now we are going to see that famous haul over U-turn. Haul over takes the win for this round. Great clip! Nice to see what you see.

I have a 13’ whaler and I would probably try to go out on a day like that. And then turn around a few minutes later. I live in California and I was out the other day in the ocean when the swell was like 3-4ft back to back.

I lived in Miami Shores and routinely boated thru Haulover Inlet. It gets rough and boaters should go slow! Safety is the first responsibility of the captain. Haulover was originally designed to allow the north Bay Area an escape route stagnate water. It works well.

Must be that the camera does not show what the big deal is/was. All other comments below seem to know it was a great video. As a kid, back in the late 50s, we used to rent little, steel row boats at Lakemont Landing on Lake Erie. With our 12 horse Elgin from Sears heading out and coming back in we often got soaked from spray over the bow. This showed far less than that. Again, I wonder if it's just that the camera doesn't show the depth of the waves. When the video was done I said to myself: "That's it? The camera lens picked up one spray and they head back in?" Somebody enlighten me.

That is what i said...this isn't even close to being the beast that Haulover can be. Try again when she is eating up even the biggest yachts, now that is a ride. A calm Haulover is a boring ride lol.

@@alabamasmokeywilson6818 I grew up vacationing on Dauphin Island in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. Haven’t spent much time there since, but lots of fond memories. I used to sit on the pier by Fort Gaines and watch the boats come in and out and dream “one day”. This little Whaler would be perfect for cruising the shallows and red fishing.

Not about hating its about a comfortable ride. Whalers are also over priced. And my boat will blow by any whaler in a rough sea and get me home even whalers or most boats that are larger vessels.
