Thanks for taking the time and posting the video. I would love to see a video comparing unsinkable trailer boats. As of now Everglades, edge water and Boston are the only I’m aware of. Who else makes this claim?
@ChrisYachtSales6 ай бұрын
You are correct, these 3 brands are the ONLY brands making this claim. And, all 3 are the Legacy of Bob Dougherty...

Hello J: I have extensive time on the Everglades but not as many hours on a Grady. Both great choices, the best I can say is I am VERY happy with both of the Everglades I had/have. I do think it comes down to the layout of the boat you want. Everglades is top choice for center console to me. Especially when you get to console layout, T-top and deck layout. The Grady White duel consoles are very tough to beat.

I bought a brand new 2018 335cc at the Boston Boat Show and absolutely love the boat and the brand! Everglades not only builds an incredible product, they stand behind it like no other manufacturer I have heard of around my marina on Cape Cod. Great boat, great company and I highly recommend them!

An educated consumer is Everglades best customer! I have been boating and fishing for over 50 years and have owned Tiara, Whaler (4 to be exact), Ranger, Correct Craft and all are top quality boats. Enjoyed them all. But none of these boats come close to Everglades. What Chris said about the RAMCAP is the real deal and must experience. That makes the boat solid that even uninformed boaters recognize. Then look at the underside. The design of the hull with the aggressive chines blow water behind the boat so you stay completely dry, and the deep V and entry are not possible to the other boat manufacturers but with the lifting strakes this boat is up on plane and cutting thru the roughest seas. Then look inside at the bilge, built in coolers, rod racks, anchor locker, console, even the lids to all the lockers. EVERYTHING is finished fiberglass, just like the exterior to the boat. I am on my 2nd Everglades (moved from 243cc to 325cc) and I charter with my 325cc Everglades and the comments from passengers about the fit and finish is consistent. "This boat is impressive!" The educated boaters look at you and give you the thumbs up because they know you took the time to find the best boat and you are not willing to comprimise. BTW. The Mercury is available from Everglades on the 253. I believe with the new management you will be seeing more Mercury power on Everglades from the factory. I am not a dealer but a person that is a believer in Everglades.

Captain, do you like them better than Grady Whites? I am in the market for a new boat sir. Thanks!
@twinchartersllc17974 жыл бұрын
@@Steelviper61 Yes. I looked close and was ready to sign for a Grady 336 when a friend took me fishing on his Everglades. They are both exceptional boats with a lot of emphasis on the underside of the hull for strong performance whatever sea conditions you encounter. I’m very impressed with how rigid the Everglades handles the seas. Take both out and the rougher the more you will learn. Good luck!

Very interesting video. I have a 23' CC Grady White with a 300 Yamaha my buddy next to me at our marina has a 23' Everglades with a 300 Yamaha. Both boats have features that are unique and could be considered better than the other. The major difference I have seen since in the two boats is performance and ride. His Everglades is considerably faster than my Grady (and probably more fuel efficient) but my Grady rides much better and seems dryer. I don't know how the prices match up, I would imagine they are comparable. Both are very good and capable boats.

You forgot to mention the endless amenities. Greetings from Western Long Island sound. Leaving my home port of Mamaroneck, there is a small Everglades that always catches my eye, docked in front of someone's waterfront property. (Best analogy I can think of is watching a group of women walk by but you notice the one who is most attractive; i.e. the "hot one," and that's the one that your eye catches and follows). I said to myself, there's the perfect small fishing boat for me. And then I Googled the boat and was startled to see a price tag of $179,000 for the same boat - all 23 feet of it. I bought my 22 ft Sea Ray 215 (with cabin) new for $32,000 in 2009 that I use for fishing . And that's the end of my story, I'll stick with the boat I have because I simply can not afford the Everglades. Perhaps in my next life.

Great analogy! & Yes, Everglades quality doesn't come cheap, and not everyone needs or is willing to pay for it. But for those who want the best ride, and are willing to pay for it, Everglades delivers....
@brianlb784 жыл бұрын
The only people that think Everglades are better boats are the people that sell and buy everglades. The fact is that all boats in this category use the same stuff throughout 80% of the boat. Same 2 engine manufacture, same electronics, even the same pumps, generators, windlass, storage boxes/drawers and pipework also come from same two places. The fact is if you're going out in 5 footers with 20mph + winds it's going to suck whether you're in an everglades or seafox. And yea there probably is some difference in ride between something like everglades and say something like Sea Hunt in 5' waves but 99.9% of the people aren't going to notice and and it's going to suck for 100% of the people. Add in that these are for recreational boaters and most go out on mild to calm conditions anyway so you're "superior" design means nothing because every boat rides great in 1' waves or less. And the most important thing is there the fish don't give a crap what the name on the side of the boat says.
@Steelviper614 жыл бұрын
Man, I'm glad you said this! So very true. I look at the quality of how the boat is put together and the amenities it provides. Support from the dealership is a MUST, bc they all break down sooner or later and you don't want to be without your boat all summer for sure due to a simple repair part.
@mm20934 жыл бұрын
You have never ridden on a sea hunt gamefish series - I swore off all v hulls in favor of cats until my buddy bought a 25’ sea hunt game fish - i have been in the weather you describe in the Chesapeake bay and ocean and it doesn’t suck so bad

Great reply, I love this. I am fine with my 22 foot Sea Ray with a few dollars still left in the bank.

Actually, Everglades is one of the manufacturers that builds all "pipework" in house.... However, you are correct - not everybody needs or is willing to pay for Everglades quality and performance.

So if your boat is so superior why are Key west that cost so much less also an unsinkable boat. Why does the brand you speak about not offer the power of choice considering that Mercury is now leaps and bounds ahead of the competition with innovation. Face you are offering an opinion as a dealer not anything based on facts. It is true that Everglades makes a very nice product but at the end of the day it loses value just like an other vessel so it is up to the consumer how much they are willing to lose once that boat is registered.
@mikeyclavijo62694 жыл бұрын
you are wrong across multiple platforms. The reason why Key West cost so much less is because they are horrible boats. From the fit and finish to the horrible ride. For the average boater it is hard to see the reasoning for the price difference, but for someone who has had first hand experience on an Everglades they will agree with me all the way. I'm not sure where you are getting your information on the value loss. Every single boat, other than a late 1990's and early 2000's 31 contender, losses value rapidly. Everglades though tends to hold its value a lot longer than most boats, especially a Key West. In terms of power choice, like some other boat companies, Everglades and Yamaha work together to make boats. Mercury may be ahead of Yamaha when talking about the weight to power ratio, but that is about it. A real boater knows Yamaha is still the superior engine out there, because reliability always comes first.
@Steelviper614 жыл бұрын
@@mikeyclavijo6269 I "Used" to think Yamaha was the most reliable engine until mine threw the number 1 rod through the block this year and with only 227 hours on it. Yamaha 300 only 5 years old, dry storage kept and serviced at the dealership every single time perfectly. Just goes to show ya none of them are bulletproof. I'll be repowering with a Yamaha only this time my insurance is going to cover mechanical breakdowns as well as my warranty.

@@Steelviper61 Yeah, Everglades is a very nice product as is Yamaha. But neither are head and shoulders above their comps. I’ve had both Yamaha and Mercs, and currently running Verado 350s and would have no problem at all going with Mercs again. I’d go with Yamaha too without hesitation, it just depends on the situation/application.

Everglades is now offering Mercury power on select models, and you are correct - Mercury power is providing better performance AND better fuel economy. However, Yamaha is still perceived as the most reliable outboard brand.
