I agree. I live in Rhode Island. And we don’t typically have sharks, I mean, it’s the ocean, so of course there are sharks, but I don’t believe there’s ever even been a shark attack on the little island i Live on. That being said, I still don’t mess with the ocean. I really can’t understand the people who dive off boats in random parts of the ocean lol. I don’t like the feeling of not knowing what’s below me. Even just thinking about it makes me shake. The ocean ain’t to be messed with. Period

This is why I refuse to go in the ocean. There is always a chance of this happening even if it’s a small chance it’s not the risk I’m willing to take for me or my children! That’s the sharks home, if they are hungry they will eat it’s their instincts and there is nothing you can do to stop it! They are huge strong apex predators, you are losing that battle whether you are severely hurt or dead.

I surf fish out of Texas. I’ll wade chest deep in unclear water with a chunk of bloody Bonita next to me, and cast out (specifically targeting hammerheads) but you could not pay me to paddle board or kayak in the ocean. Humans don’t really understand the power of these animals. They are massive. 10ft,14ft,16ft+ sharks in these oceans. Weighting hundreds of pounds if not thousands. Once you get 1/2 to 1 mile off shore, you’re right there with the big boys. They are closer to land than most believe.
