Yes, you can hear through the inflections, but it's still of a different language, and a japanese trying to figure out inflections/tone of voice in a different language is a game of chance at times

Botan's English seems to be okay, and she quickly understood that she needed to troll the game as much as the game was trolling her. Pekora on the other hand was convinced this is a horror game, for her this is a game where she could lose her freaking marbles when none of it makes any sense cause it's not like a normal game
