Love your videos. I have a question. I live in the Central Coast California. I planted my bulbs cause we normally have our cold weather by now. Yet, it’s been warm and some of my bulbs are starting to come out. I think, they think it’s Spring already. I expect we will have our cold weather within two weeks. What will happen to those bulbs that, started to come out?? Will they bloom again in then Spring? Thank you so much in advance for your answer.

Hello and thanks for the question. There have been times when this has happened to us here on the West Coast of British Columbia. Our experience has been that what you are seeing is the foliage and not the flower and they should die down when the cold does come. The flower should still be deep inside the bulb, waiting for the months of cold before starting to emerge in the spring. The truth is there is nothing to do but let whatever is going to happen, happen. We have also noticed that planting the bulbs a few inches deeper than usual is a good way to insulate them from the effects of unusual temperature fluctuations. Kind regards, Botanus

BotanusTV Thank you for your response. I have put cardboard over them so they are not receiving direct sun. YES next time I’ll plant them deeper. I Love your advice. Great book recommendation. I Love how much fun you all have. It’s great to work with women that, have so much in common. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
