What is the threat at 2:51 ?
@yourtruelordandsaviour5 ай бұрын
There is no threat. Andrea didn't calculate. She probably meant to play nxf7 kxf7, qxe6+ kf8, sacking her knight for two pawns and open files to the king, but the move wouldn't have worked even if Tommy had allowed it. For starters, all of black's pieces are in the center, providing ample protection while white has literally no attackers beyond the queen and the rook. There is just no follow-up to the sacrifice, no checkmate, no way to win the bishop on e7. Also, white gives up their strongest piece here which severely limits the positional compensation of the (semi-)open files. In that line, black consolidates and is just up a piece in a winning endgame. Black's qd6 prevented that knight sack because the follow-up qxe6+ could have been met with qxe6 instead of moving the king back. White takes back with the took and is still down a knight for two pawns but now - without their queen or their knight - doesn't even have slim chances of any attack whatsoever. Black's qd6 is fine, but just finishing your development with 0-0 would have been better. Not by a lot, but still better.

@@yourtruelordandsaviour yeah this comment section isn't chess experts, they just click because girl lol I, for one being an actual chess player who's about the same level as Andrea, welcome your comment and agree with it; adding that in the Qd6 Nxf7 line you mentioned White would straight up lose a rook as well since Black king takes it in the end
@yourtruelordandsaviour5 ай бұрын
@@JimmyBoosterCrate Thanks for the addition, similar strength here. I should probably have mentioned rxe6 in the original comment but didn't know how if lines longer than three moves complicated the explanation beyond the point of comprehensibilty. Explaining chess is kinda hard when you a) don't know the strength of the player you're explaining it to and b) are an absolute noob in both chess teaching and in strength relative to all the really strong players running around in some other comment sections.
