Update: La Galleria 33 closed in November 2018, 6.5 years after Gordon's initial visit. There's no official reason why it closed, the general consensus being that is couldn't hold against the competitors. The reviews until the end was pretty good; the food was said to not be bad but also not anything astounding. Their parent's restaurant is still open but reviews are mixed - some say the food is really great, some say it isn't. Lisa took over while Rita moved to Florida and opened a pretty successful Italian Market and Deli. Sara quit after filming and is now a certified ophthalmic technician. I couldn't find much about Pat but some people who visited their mother's restaurant saw him there. In their area now stands a French restaurant named Libertine. Overall, it did pretty good and is one of the more successful Kitchen Nightmare restaurants.

Basically what they do is subtly trick the guests into behaving a certain way. If an interviewer asks ''do you think Gordon will like your food?'' and the participant responds ''it's possible, I don't think it's great but it should be fine,'' well, that doesn't really fit with the deluded chef/owner narrative, hence why you never see it. So what they do is they make the participant reiterate the sentence a number of times with a bit of guidance such as ''okay great but now say it with a bit of passion and confidence,'' and the participant naturally responds with more conviction, such as 'I think there's a great chance Gordon will love our food!' The objective is simple: If you get enough takes of the same statement, eventually you can cut it up into whatever narrative you like. It's a common form of 'scripting' in reality television; which essentially just means the dialogue & story are artificial -- which it is, because it didn't occur naturally.

Youve never worked in restaurants apparantly. What they mean is, when there are two servers working the customers, some servers do the big groups or are the ones that do the payment, which means they get the tips. This can go very unfair even though both servers work all the tables. Thats why they said, at least give 20% to the orher one, so its a little more fair. Sara obviously is not a team player and just wants to grab all the money. Its not good for the team spirit.

Working too hard? If there are tables available all waiters want them because they depend on tips. Her "working too hard" caused a problem among the staff who also wanted to work for tips. Them not having tables probably ultimately left them looking lazy while Sarah was making money. I think Sarah was used to having her way in that employee run establishment. If she expects to find another deal like that, she's delusional.

We didn’t see much of him but Ramsey really picked a great person to help the cooks in the kitchen. Not only was he obviously knowledgeable and experienced but he had a really good energy and was encouraging a lot of positive communication in the kitchen which really has a big affect. It seemed like he wanted to make sure everyone in the kitchen felt appreciated and encouraged.

Jovial greeting, putdown of decor (hideous), bland unappetising lunch for Gordon (usually a hair in one dish), debrief in kitchen (chef you're a joke), evening service, Gordon scratching head, stroking chin, facepalming. Little venture into walk in fridge/freezer (oh no, what is this? Oh, come on!!!), another debrief (you're fucking delusional and in the shit!). Heart to hearts and ultimatums. Tomorrows a new day! Big unveil of 360 rennovation, cheers & tears. New menu (OMG, have you tasted that!), 1st night reopening, food flying out, customers loving new menu, problem occurs mid service (run out of food, orders mixed up), meltdowns, Gordon rallying cry to staff, total turnaround, service saved. We know what to expect, but come back for more more more

They called her lazy because she would come into work and sit around drinking coffee and chatting until customers came. She didn't do any prep or cleaning or anything else. (well none of them did, but her included). When customers would show up, she would gobble them all up, take all the tables and make most of the money. That is on the owners for not giving everyone an equal number of tables. As for the tips thing. When she makes a large tip. 400 dollars for example she is supposed to give the bus boy 15% of the tips. While not all places do this, it's also not uncommon to share some of the tips with the bus boys who clean and take the dishes away when customers leave. they then prep the table for the next customers.

I was thinking the same. Maybe I'm missing something because I don't fully understand how it works, but it seems like she got a bit of a villain edit at the end. They called out the servers for doing nothing, but then get mad at her for waiting a lot of tables? It should be the owner's responsibility to make sure Pat gets paid and that the tables are waited evenly, not Sara's. It's reality TV though, so I guess we can never tell for sure.

Sarah is actually a genius. She knows Gordon is there to see the Problems in order to understand, why the business isnt working. She doesnt want to recommend him stuff that is good, because hes not an actual customer.
