The Police finally admit what we all knew from the start. Amber Guyger got special treatment because she was a police officer and anyone else would have been arrested on the spot.

Tens of millions of dollars. Why not a trillion? It’s a civil trial folks. They won’t receive anything cause she doesn’t have anything. She’s already doing time, so this is supposed to make them feel like they hurt her some more?

I dont know, feel bad for all the people involved. She was over worked and stressed out, came home and panicking. Not the best qualifications for being a cop, but i dont see how people want this lady to spend the rest of her life in prison. Some people do awful things and show no remorse, while she did. Just sucks all around.

She knew what she was doing. It was an execution, for sure! Did you not see some of the other evidence that came out? Also...how would anyone really not know their own home - especially if they've lived there for a long time? And Botham Jean's apartment had a distinctive, bright red mat. Also - she put in noise complaints a few times before (I believe she lived directly below him). So, the deliberate nature of this crime is quite apparent!

@scholarlyanalyst7700 so my apartments have four floors here in Dallas. I live on the third. In the past 2 years of living here, my neighbor above me and below me have each entered my home twice by accident. I have a pit, so I never lock my door. Each time my neighbor would apologize like crazy and said they lost count of how many stairs they climbed because they were on the phone. Obviously we joke about it when I see each neighbor so completely different than what happened to Mr Jean. I'm just saying shooting an unarmed individual is not easy. Got to be pretty twisted. She doesn't come across as that.

@@word123456789100 Point taken. And to be clear, I never said my summary was enough to convict (I know you did not imply that in any way; I'm just sayin'). HOWEVER, there's much more I recall coming out that simply adds additional layers - layer after layer - that leads me to believe it was an execution (albeit nowhere near 100% positive; I'd need still more information to be more confident). For now...we'll leave the fact (in the background) that people don't mix up apartments every day AND he had a very distinctive, bright red doormat. The people that mistook YOUR apartment almost certainly knew right away they walked into the wrong apartment - certainly immediately after seeing you (or, even as they walk in, since everyone's apartment is going to be distinctive). In my mind, it would be HIGHLY unusual to walk into a different apartment and not realize instantly it is not yours just from the inside of it. Especially when seeing someone lying down. It is FAR more normal to either immediately realize (or at the very least, double-check before 'welcoming' him with gunfire). Afterall...they had different apartment numbers. Also...the testimony she gave in court did not match the forensic evidence. She made it sound almost like he was lunging towards her and she shot out of fear he would kill her. The forensic evidence showed that she shot him at a time he was rising up and would have clearly been no threat to her. Surely she's trained to wait-and-see before firing. Additionally, she's trained to call for back up in such situations (before even attempting to engage). Gun owner or not (I am not), there's no way I am going in to engage like that. Of course...it's different if you are in the house while someone violently breaks in. But, she came from the outside. She's trained to call for back up. That's what I would have done! Why unnecessarily engage one-on-one - especially with a police department practically next door (which she knew!)? Everything just seems too convenient to me. That's why I am skeptical. Again...I would need more information to be more confident. But it's not looking good for her (in my mind!).
