The family's attorney said the city should share in liability with Amber Guyger for hiring her and training her. However, the city filed a motion to be removed from the lawsuit, and it was granted. A Dallas appellate attorney explains why.

If she was off duty, then she should have been treated like any other criminal and convicted with life in prison. She's a murderer no matter how you slice the bread.

Didn't the city work her for excessive hours which made her be too tired to notice it wasn't her apartment? Seems like they were partially at fault.

Idk, i feel like nearly 100 million dollars is an outrages amount. They might as well have said 100 gazillion dollars since they're probably not getting a cent from her. That's why they're going so hard after the city to pay, which again, the only people who really pay are the taxpayers.

Her being an officer is the reason she received the lenient sentence that she got… and if it was the other way around it would be all about HER BEING A COP, DPD should still be liable

So the officers of the court can do whatever they want guilty or not and they don't GAF about taking responsibility for anything. Got it, yet no regular person can go oops my bad. Off duty or not she represents the City of Dallas. Just like when you're in the service they can hold you accountable whether you are in uniform or not. Let's not pretend like they don't have rules of unbecoming of an officer just like the military, but turn around and make up BS to not be held responsible for their employee not knowing her own FCK apartment and M dering an innocent man in his apartment.
