So this is a new mounting for the 30mm MK 103 autocannon that's then placed on a Möbelwagen chassis? And it's a more realistic AA vehicle than the Ostwind II is? Plus HVAP belts? "This is where the fun begins".

Unlike this Ostwind II, this actually existed (there was 1 of them, but still). In late '44 they put the MK103 on the mounting of the 20mm Flak 38. By March '45 they had built a couple hundred single mounts, and under a dozen quad mountings...because Dakka, etc. They stuck the single mounts on a couple different models of trucks and 1/2-traks. Then somebody said, "we have a quad mounting, why not make a Mobilwagen??"

Great video Bo! I thought this thing had a quad 20mm when it first came out, and was a little upset it was at the tier its at lol. That 30mm tho, it hits like a freight train! Hope the fill the 4.7 gap at some point. Still a lot of cool AAs that could be added.

They have to give their fantasies a name... The chassis existed, with a quad 20 or single 37. It was nicknamed 'Möbelwagen' (furniture moving truck), but I've never heard of or seen a quad 30mm.

Yeah, it's best not to read too much into the German naming schemes WW2. The Kugelblitz is basically lightning bullet or ball bullet. The Ostwind is Eastern wind. A Bergepanzer is a recovery vehicle, but for some reason means mountain tank.

The other name for the Flak 103/38s was "Jaboschreck" (fighter-bomber terror). If they had thought to produce this thing 6-9 months earlier, the Germans could have put a serious dent in the whole Allied CAS scheme in W.Europe.

Well Bo, in all fairness to the Star Wars snalogy, StormTroopers and a LOT of weapons were modled after Nazi German soldiers snd weapons. Like the A280 is just a STG44 that can shoot lasers XD Hell, one weapon is JUST a sci-fi style German MG38
