Our first game drive in the park was incredibly full of fun and interesting encounters. Along with the many colorful birds, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and such, we saw hundreds of baboons and zebras crossing the Chobe river - in essence crossing the border from Namibia into Botswana. No passport required for them :) Along with the fun though, we also saw a dead giraffe and elephant. Sadly, that is the cycle of life in the wild. We have to remember the good though, so I'm focusing on all the totally amazing sightings we had. It may be everyday life in Chobe, but I feel blessed to have been part of that day!

Thank you David! I'm now somewhat embarrassed to say though that I also have a video where lions are devouring a buffalo 🤭 glad you enjoyed this video 😉🤗

Wonderful! A photo safari is on my bucket list, which I'm fortunate to be able to work through now. One question: how did you find/choose your safari operator? Did you book it in advance or show up in Botswana and see what was available? Suggestions for others who might want to do something similar, especially in Chobe? Thanks!!

Can I ask what you were using to capture your video footage. It was great! I’m going in a couple of months and am looking for the right equipment

Sony camcorder AX53. It's a little bulky, but I'm used to it and I need the zoom. Everyone else had cameras, and some for great pictures and video just using their phones. I take really a lot of footage and need multiple memory cards. I'm sure you will have a memorable time on your trip! I wish I was going again 🙂

Hi Arnie. I used Overseas Adventure Travel for the tour. They always have absolutely wonderful local guides. I may be wrong, but I think Blessing, our overall tour leader, is no longer guiding because of COVID. It was hard going for them for a long time. The drivers/guides though were working for the camp. Sounds like you are interested in going. Enjoy if/when you do 🤗

Thank you! Yes, there were. We saw some very big ones later. I guess they were not hunting at the time... Very lucky for these animals!
