Really like the bag as Bottega's answer to a need in the market. That bag could be today what Hermes' birkin was in 2001. I would buy in a couple of years if it (and he) sticks around. After the Balenciaga thing, personally I will take it slow with 'new' creatives.

I just bought one in Athens! Im so in love with it and been getting compliments! I wish i bought the medium size ( bought the small) but i can fit my small wallet, phone and other small knick knacks in it so over all im happy with it!

Love Matthew's Bottega! I'm also a fan of Daniel Lee's BV - his more showy, vibrant aesthetic brought me in as a customer (bought the green puddle boots). However, I find Matthew's BV more relatable, and I want to buy more from his collections compared to Daniel's. I recently bought the large pillow bag from the FW 22 collection in the Barulo color way. I also have the curved wool blue coat on my wish list!

Yes I think DL really created new silhouettes and with bright colours it made those pieces really stand out on social media. Agree that MB's is much more wearable with beautiful deep rich colours. I had the Bottega’s Knot bucket bag which have the exact same strap as the Andiamo’s. It feels totally fine on my shoulder and i always load that bag to the fullest so i guess it would be fine for that matter.😂

I love to own that bag for its practicality and not, as you said, for some creative vision. At the same time I just bought Margiela’s 5ac in smooth leather because I love what’s going on there creatively and want to participate. (Plus it is not huge but with the extension fits my laptop!) I was really looking into Venetta’s top handle bag, which I haven’t seen anyone wear even on the internet.

I actually prefer the equestrian symbol over the TB logo or the boldface "BURBERRY" font. I appreciated that Daniel Lee came up with whole new silhouettes at BV, I hope he does the same at Burberry. Tyrone Lebon's photography was used during his time at BV so similar vibes. Overall very intrigued.

I totally agree, if I'm spending more money I sometimes feel that quality is a given (though not always what we may receive even at that price point), and what I would want to buy into additionally is a sense of story/sense of inspiration from the collection. I find the sardine bag more quirky than the andiamo but not as practical, but I still am not super sure how these 2 bags tie into his overall vision. I'm still looking forward to what BV will offer, but from the one show it's definitely luxury albeit a little bit forgettable.

The engineering on these newer intrecciato styles is impressive but but the quality when you consider the heavy coated finishes and bonded leather and synthetic materials just does not justify the prices. There should be a made to order bag range integrated. That’s the only way to introduce leather goods to a trending brand remotely comparable to the quality of Hermes.
