Coming from Michigan you would get $3.10 back in bottles because each return is .10 cents that includes glass, plastic, and aluminum bottles and cans. We started this in 1976

In finland we recycle the bottles in stores and get 0.10-0.40€ per bottle

Initiatives like that are about forming positive habits and implementing them in peoples life, not about making every single machine like that. Sometimes just simply showing that something isn‘t so bad/ is an option/ would be better for x without much effort is enough to make some people do that in the future.
